Short trip to climb Ben Rinnes today, near Aberlour. A short sharp climb from the car park, which flattens out and then another steep climb to the top, sheep on the lower slopes, but great views from the Cairngorms to the Moray Coast at the summit. Best to give yourselves 2.5 hrs for the full up and down experience!

Brilliant afternoon up at Balmenach Distillery, learning about Caorunn Gin. A great tour with really informative staff. Lovely to sample the varieties at the end. Highly recommended with tours at 10am and 2pm daily Monday to Friday. Top tip……walk from the house, don’t drive

Less that an hours drive up to Spey Bay and the coastal walk from Findochty to Portknockie and Bow Fiddle Rock. Well worth a day out from Capercaillie Cottage 👍

Discovered Sluggan Bridge today, a 5 minute drive up the Dulnain from Carrbridge and then a 15 minute walk through silver birch and Scots pine woodland. Great spot for a picnic and a swim🐶🏊🏼‍♀️

The walk around Loch Vaa is a must if staying at Capercaillie Cottage, the water is gin clear, although the sky is not always as blue as it was this morning!

Stunning day in the Cairngorms on Saturday. Short sharp climb to the summit of Cairn Gorm from the ski centre, across the top of the Northern corries and back down. 35 mins drive from the house and a great day out with clear views!
