Thats all the scouts finally back in Glasgow. No doubt they have plenty of stories to tell about their adventures in Indonesia and hopefully memories that will last a lifetime.
I want to thank all the Scouts and the Scout leaders for their excellent work and enthusiasm they showed. Its not been easy for them all and im sure all have had their highs and lows but definitely an amazing adventure . I also want to thank Clyde Region for their support over the last few years and helping coordinate the scouting side of things.
I need to say a massive thanks to my Indonesian team. Without doubt they are the reason the expediton was such a success. They worked tirelessly and over and above what was expected of them and their commitment and dedication to the scouts was amazing.
Finally, I need to thank the Tangkahan community for welcoming us with open arms and working so hard along side us in helping make a difference at both the Conservation Response Unit and the English Club school.
The Scouts should be really proud of what they have achieved out here and without doubt they have left a lasting legacy and made some friends for life.
So thats the Queens Scout Expediton 2018 officially closed. Good luck to all the Scouts in the future and looking forward to the next Queens Scout expediton and new adventures.
Thank you all
The Indo Trek team!

Last full day of work projects completed and the troops worked extremely hard again.
They had to work around a heavy downpoor, joiners and builders and many kids that were more interested in the scouts than doing school work. Lots of fun was had as you can imagine!
Ice cream man turned up on his moped so the troops had a wee treat after lunch and we had a very happy ice cream vendor!
The scouts have only a few hours in the morning to finish the jobs off before they have to give presentations to the CRU staff and then to the kids and parents at the English Club. A fun day lies ahead, fingers crossed we get everything done!

For those of you wondering what a 'cavity examination' of an elephant is then please see below.
This is an essesntial examination to check the health of the elephants and clear any 'blockages' that may occur.
Something the scouts hope to not have to repeat again!!
Wee elephant looks happy though!!

Sorry for lack of photos folks. Mobile signal not working well tonight for some reason. Will send them tomorrow along with further updates.

Another cracking days effort by all of the troops. Time quickly running out and still quite a few tasks to complete. Tasks today involved making signs, completing the elephant food enclosure, making bins and the usual 'cavity" clearance etc down at the CRU. We also had a visit from some local scouts which was a pleasent surprise.
Over at the English Club we discovered a bit of a problem with one of the drainage pipes that runs under the playground. Unfortunately, most of the pipe needed digging and large sections need replacing. Hopefully new pipe will be here tomorrow and we can repair and get back to playground development. Lots of painting also done today and feeling like we are getting there.
Same again tomorrow and hopefully another cool one!

Happy 'Jungle' Birthday Andrew!
One I'm sure he will remember!!

Weekly pedicure at the CRU salon!!
Looks rough, but the elephants have a massive amount of hard skin underneath their feet which needs close attention to remove stones and thorns thus avoiding any problems down the line.
And the ladies get well pampered whilst they have their nails done!!

Another day done and dusted!
Troops well deserve their day off tomorrow.
More Excellent progress made at both the CRU and English club and fantastic 'help' from the local kids!
Tasks today at the CRU ranged from elephant pedicure, sign making, elephat porridge making along with continued work on the new food enclosure.
Troops at the English school continued to paint buildings, interior and exterior, mural's and tables and even a chance of teaching a bit of rugby!
Well done to all once again. Doing yourselves and the Scouts proud!!

Troops off on project work this morning and thankfully a wee bit cooler!
We are also celebrating Andrew Dover's birthday today. Happy 17th from all your fellow scouts, the Indo Trek team, CRU and the Tangkahan community!
Even big Theo, the toops male elephant, made a 'special' cake for him!

Hot! Damn hot!!
Probably the hottest day yet for the troops but they still cracked on with their tasks albeit a few started to feel the heat today.
Great work done and some taks already complete ahead of schedule, so well done to all!
Another rotation tomorrow and 'elephant pedicure' on the cards. Should be interesting!!

First day of projects and the troops have done themselves proud . All patrols worked really hard on yet another very hot day!
Projects ranging from elephant enclosure clearing, distracting the young ones during cleaning, 'cavity' health inspections of the elephants?!!? and work on the elephant medical center began.
Meanwhile at the school seating was painted, old classroom cleared and work began on the playground.
Presentations from each patrol tonight on their progress made so far. Same again tomorrow and no doubt the same level of commitment will be shown. Just hope it cools down a little!

Another day down! Two more trekking days to go!
A little more of a challenge for the troops today and a few more leeches picked up along the way! Seeing another male orgutan more than made up for it. A visit to the bat cave and a dip in the hot springs at the end of the trek was welcomed by all concerned!
Camera traps set out too. Fingers crossed we get some good footage.

Whilst the troops are out yomping through the jungle our injured due are being kept busy !

Now preparing their evening meals after having a 'mandi' and no doubt an early night. Long trek tomorrow!
