It’s not often a hot air balloon can take off and land at the same spot, but this morning our pilot landed back at York Racecourse after an hours flight over York. This was down to a rare box wind heading one way on the surface, whilst heading the complete opposite direction slightly higher up. This Mornings Summer Solstice Flight 🌅
Dropping it quickly this morning over the centre of the airfield so the lower winds didn’t blow us off course for our landing. Fantastic conditions! Join us.
This time last year after taking off from York racecourse then landing back at.... you guessed it.... York Racecourse!
This does not happen very often at all, maybe once a season! It was achieved by using what we call a “Box Wind”. Ask our pilot how he did it when you fly with us!
