Can any of the aurora enthusiasts out there explain these shapes? I don’t think it’s cloud as the shapes vanished and appeared in the same way the rest of the lights did while the few clouds were standing still. Amazing to watch.

Always great when the aurora puts in a show. Last night was the most spectacular night yet at Darg wood with strange bubble like formations I’ve never seen before.

Stand aside fireworks. The northern lights have put on a great show for our lucky guests this weekend. Btw if anyone can tell me what the line of lights is (last pic) travelling high in the sky from the west during the local fireworks display I’d be very grateful. 👽🤷‍♂️

Summers can slip by, and sometimes leave you feeling a bit short changed, but autumn always delivers. Frosty morning walks, wildlife, food, colour and cosy fires every year without fail. And it’s just getting started. 🍂 🍁 🍄 🦌 🎃

It isn’t easy to find anything positive to say around the senseless destruction of the cherished and iconic tree at sycamore gap.

The closest I can get is that it has made me look again at the trees of all shapes and sizes around us that are special to me and my family. At best this sad week has been a jarring reminder not to take our favourite trees for granted.

We feel very lucky to have hosted some fantastic people at Darg Wood Hut. It’s especially nice when they let us know they have had exactly the sort of stay we hoped to create when we started up a year ago. Kind and thoughtful gestures like this are the icing on the cake!
