As an extension to my Languedoc tour business ( www.cathar-heritage-tours.co.uk ) this site was established to share my love of the region's rich history of the Cathar people in Languedoc. This is a pictoresque region and a broad range of local knowledge can be found on the " useful information" links page of the web site. was a shocking affair, a long and bloody conflict that some have called "the earliest form of ethnic cleansing"

I charge €280 for up to 4 persons for a full day tour in this amazing region with full explanation of places visited

Some of favourite photos of the people and landscape of the region can also be seen to hopefully draw you to visit the region and its treasures. I have also put a couple of word documents there from my own reading on the subject to provide a quick precis of its background and story

It is amazing how some try to rewrite history,by saying_ "It never happened" like the holocaust. We need to be honest about the abominal acts of humanity to admit our vulnerabillty !

They lived simple lives of austerity and abstinence and suffered horrifying deaths, cut down by marauding armies and burned at the stake as heretics — or so the legend goes.
