I can then take you on a driver-guided tour designed by me, specially for you, focusing on your interests. Tour operators can contact me to deliver tours already planned by them. Lovely trip up to Stronachlachar on Loch Katrine -last 12 miles on an “interesting” single-track road. Worth it for the views and lucky to catch sight of little steamship, “Sir Walter Scott” on one of its trips up the Loch.

A very enjoyable visit to the East Neuk today with a walk along the coastal path at Pittenweem. Noticed the rain clouds coming so took shelter till it passed over then headed for the harbour. Lovely part of Scotland.

A really good Outlander tour with two lovely people from Tennessee. Found an inscription at Midhope (Lallybroch) I had not seen before. Windy at Blackness Castle (Inverness prison). Doune Castle (Castle Leoch) was closed due to filming but we walked the river path and came to it from the back. A successful day.

A lovely couple of sunny days guiding some Ukrainian clients round St Andrews then down to the Borders the next day to enjoy the ruined abbeys and Abbotsford. The weather was too warm for the sheep.

May is a beautiful time to come to Scotland. Not so many tourists and the rhododendrons are spectacular. Visited a wonderful (if rather hilly) garden on the banks of Loch Earn in Perthshire. Lovely views and lots of bushes full of flowers.

Springtime is a great time for rhododendrons in Scotland and we have many gardens where they can be seen. Here are a few photos from Dawyck in the Scottish Borders. I just caught them before the flowers were over. Even saw a bumble bee.

Fife has many hidden gems to offer visitors and Lochore Meadows is lovely for a quiet walk away from the crowds gathered round the play area. Once in the heart of coal-mining country, this now offers a nature reserve and a variety of walks. Plenty of benches to rest on as well.

Just across the Firth of Forth lies the Kingdom of Fife, where I am originally from . Such a contrast in scenery. This is Loch Leven which has a wonderful nature reserve. It is near a gliding centre, thus the photo. It was wonderful to see two lapwings - apparently an endangered species these days. No photo as they did not co-operate and hop into the range of my mobile phone.

I don’t often “blow my own trumpet” but thought I would just mention a tourism award (my first ever) I got last year. No idea who nominated me - but much appreciated.
