🇬🇩 Sparkles vs Grenada- the last ‘leg’ 🇬🇩

Well all good things must come to an end, but not before gracing Silversands Beach House with my sparkly presence 🧐

It does exactly what it says on the tin - but rather spectacularly!

Small and perfectly formed, under the watchful eye of the meticulous assistant manager Clarista, who ensures your every need is catered for, before you even know it’s a need! We instantly felt at home and in very safe hands.

Staying in one of their five beach houses we were blessed with two sets of our own luxury sun loungers both on our deck and the exquisite beach…it was a mind blowing daily decision!🧐😁

If you ever fancy a stay in Grenada, make sure Silversands is part of the itinerary! I know someone who can make that happen…🧐😁

🇬🇩 Sparkles vs Grenada part 3 🇬🇩

If Sparkles is on island, then it’s written that Sandals will be on the itinerary for a full appraisal.

I’m pleased to report that Sandals Grenada passed with a 💯% scorecard as usual.

The Grenada contingent is the benchmark for all Sandals hotels in my opinion and is consistently fab-u-lous.

A beautiful resort with stunning gardens, beach and most importantly happy staff💪

10 restaurants and 9 nights….I did the math and the answer was Butch’s steakhouse every other night 🧐

The net result - Filet Mignon, peppercorn sauce and extra mash x 5!🥸😆

We were exceptionally well looked after and found ourselves in rondoval 4101…then didn’t leave apart from eating steak!

With its own pool and hot tub draped by beautiful bougainvillea, with daily visits from our team of butlers and pet Iguanas it seemed the safest place for me to stay out of trouble!

It was a wonderful almost private villa experience but with 24hr premium all inclusive at your fingertips. If you’re looking for private, lazy with great food on tap, this is it.

My only concern is how l’m going to recover from the steak ‘high’🥩🤨😁

🦿Sparkles vs Ankle 🦿

I’m officially a ‘person of determination’ 🤦‍♀️

Two small achievements but a win is a win💪

1. My bionic ankle and I made it to the gym a few days ago…took as many to recover (look away if my poor excuse for a size 4 offends!)🤨

2. Managed to walk end-to-end of Pink Gin beach to touch the rock…albeit sideways for half of it, with a crutch and the aid of a safety net in the shape of James.

Any requests for my next trick…🧐

Sparkles vs Grenada part 2

I’d like to tell you all about the east coast of Grenada, but I can’t as I didn’t leave our pool villa for three days…I’m sure you can appreciate why from the pics!

Six Senses is about disconnecting to reconnect, so that’s just what I did, only coming up for food!

Breakfast, whilst vast in its selection lacked disappointingly in the potato department for me 😁 But plenty of seeds and the multicoloured spread was a feast for the eyes….looked much like a display at the best harvest festival!

Dinner certainly hit the spot and was a fairly epic meat feast 💪

A lovely hotel with a great ice cream parlour….especially the complimentary scoop of the day! 🍨

Another good find if you’re not a people person and just want to be…

🇬🇩 Sparkles vs Grenada - part 1 🇬🇩

My usual ‘end-to-end/touch the rock’ beach walk of Grand Anse wasn’t to be…I did manage one end though which felt like quite a win and got my 100 metre certificate💪😁

Mount Cinnamon was as lovely as ever with spectacular views. However the clue is in the name and a Mount it is, so I was rather a drain on their shuttle service🤦‍♀️

If you like quiet and not a fan of people, this is for you 👈

Today marks the 4 month anniversary of the Sparkles Splat!

I’ve upgraded my cagoule in favour of proper coverage courtesy of Six Senses (just in case) and only daring to go by our private pool for damage limitation!

ABBA is also off the playlist…🤦‍♀️

🌴 Nearly 4 months on and my peg leg and I are taking our chances back in the Caribbean...

Security should be a bundle of fun what with my hair grips, underwire bra and now my terminator leg but it all adds to the adventure.

My mobility is still somewhat limited so whilst I can hobble about crutch-less (that is a U to be clear!), I will be the special one on the back of the buggy and on the cherry picker milking the situation! ♿

Joking aside, I wish more than anything to be striding it out to the gate but that's a work in progress...

So my end-to end beach walking might be off the cards this time, I'm just forever grateful to a very skilled surgeon and his team for getting me vertical so I have the opportunity to travel again! 🦸

I'll give rain dancing a swerve this time...
