The studio is a spacious, open-plan, self-contained space, equipped with everything you need for a comfortable stay away from it all. Even though the building is over 170 years old, the conversion gives it a light, modern feel whilst retaining many original features. The space was for many years used as a photographic studio where the owners worked together to create images for magazine features,

books and advertising. There's a comfortable king-sized bed with pure cotton bedlinen, and a sleek shower room. The lounge area has a television/dvd player/Netflix/Freeview, wi-fi, DAB radio and a selection of books, DVDs, games and local maps. We provide basics including tea, coffee, milk and juice, and when you arrive we will welcome you with home made cake or cookies. Underfloor heating will keep your toes warm, and for more chilly days the woodburner stove makes the apartment extra cosy. You also have exclusive use of your own sunny south-facing patio and small informal country garden. We're in a peaceful, semi-rural location just 8 miles south of the beautiful World Heritage City of Bath, a great location for exploring Somerset and the South West. Other distances:
University of Bath, Claverton 9 miles
Frome 9 miles
Wells 13 miles
Longleat 13 miles
Bristol 14 miles
Bruton 17 miles
Cheddar 17 miles

We did this lovely walk last summer, from Wells to Glastonbury. It goes through some beautiful countryside and we rang the bells on the way - it's great to hear the full story of the Syrens and the bells, and to hear them all played together to make the full melody.

The weather forecast is looking fairly good for Saturday morning, so it will be worth popping down to our local farmer's market!

Kick off the bank holiday weekend with a fun filled morning at Midsomer Norton Farmers Market! After the disappointment of having to cancel the market last month, we are back with a jam packed market on the 4th of May featuring:

Tulip season - and you can pick your own, locally grown ones!🌷🌷🌷

🌷 Our tulip field opens this weekend 🌷

Following a slow start to the spring, the first of our tulips are FINALLY ready.... pick-your-own tulip tickets are now available to book for this Saturday and Sunday 🙌

Each ticket enables you to pick a bunch of 15 tulips, just book the number of tickets according to how many tulips you'd like. Tickets are here: https://www.farringtons.co.uk/tickets

We are hoping that we will have other picking days in coming weeks but it has been a tough, wet winter for them out there!

🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱It's time for the obligatory wild garlic shot again - and we have tons of it! It's pungent aroma fills the air outside, especially after an April shower, but the flavour is wonderfully subtle and mild. 🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱

Good morning long weekenders!
Happy April 1st, don't worry, no pranks but shout out to whoever striped that field, it's giving the view a cute twist this month!
We've sent out our May newsletter, it's mainly just new diary dates for brunches, curry nights, Monday roast. We're not doing any supper clubs in May as wedding season is kicking off and it's set to be a busy month in the barn. But we'd love to see you for curry nights and brunchy mornings...maybe May will see the big green doors open up to that ⬆️ view and be warm enough for al fresco dining? Wishful thinking?
For April we are hosting some very special foodie events for festival, lunch is sold out, but there is a little space left for the evening supper, a menu created entirely around the Persephone Cookbook collection, head to the Persephone website for tickets!

Good to see our local farmer's market is growing this Spring!😊

Not long now until you can visit Prior Park Landscape Garden for free with your National Lottery ticket.

It's a chance for us to say for helping raise funds that support the places we care for at the National Trust. During National Lottery Open Week, from Saturday 9 - Sunday 17 March, simply show your National Lottery ticket or scratch card on arrival.

Or, if you're a National Trust member, why not bring a friend along with you?

Learn how to forage at Radford Mill Organic Farm 2024

This 2.5 hr scenic foraging walk will guide you through all the fundamentals of foraging and help you discover the abundance of fresh greens, edible flowers, herbs and fungi available through the seasons.

Radford Mill Farm is a 115 acre organic farm just outside Bath in the Cam Valley. It is dedicated to sustainable farming in harmony with nature and includes woodlands, species rich pastures, a river and other water sources, as well as a disused canal and railway line both of which are public access routes and include havens for wildlife and native plants. It’s the ideal spot to come and learn more about how to safely and sustainably forage for wild food and medicine.

Explore this idyllic setting as we discover all that nature has to offer. You’ll be guided through the identification process and given hints and tips on how to use the ingredients we find, as well as learning some fascinating folklore about them.

This walk will help you to connect to the environment around you and empower you to go on and learn more. It will be an exploration of the senses as we discover what is growing around us.

Please allow yourself extra time to find the farm and park so we can start on time, and be prepared for what ever the British weather may bring!

Our story

The studio is in one half of a converted Grade II listed, early Victorian church, artfully transformed into a large, open-plan, self-catering apartment for two. It's quiet, light and airy, a perfect space to relax, with everything you need for a cosy romantic weekend or a longer stay. There's a comfortable king-sized bed, plus a double futon for up to two extra guests, and a separate shower room. The lounge area has a television/dvd player/Netflix/Freeview, free wi-fi and a selection of books, DVDs, games and local maps. Keen cooks will love the very well-equipped kitchen and comfortable dining area, and when you arrive we will welcome you with homemade cake or cookies. Your own south-facing patio and small informal garden offer a peaceful space to enjoy your morning coffee or chill with a glass of wine on a warm summer evening. Even though the church is over 170 years old, the conversion gives it a light and airy, modern feel whilst retaining some original features. The space was for many years used as a photographic studio where the owners, a photographer and a food writer, worked together to create images for magazine features, books and advertising. Underfloor heating will keep your toes warm, and for more chilly days the wood burner stove makes the apartment extra cosy. We're in a peaceful, semi-rural location just 8 miles south of the beautiful World Heritage City of Bath, and a great base for exploring the area.
