People sometimes ask what are the bedrooms like at The Croft? I think they are all beautiful but make up your own mind. We have...

🛏️ A stunning Blue master king bedroom which is on the ground floor with patio doors out onto a small cobbled area. Complete with a dressing table with mirror and triple wardrobe and chest of drawers

🛏️ Upstairs from here we have the Blue / Grey King bedroom with a wardrobe and dressing table with mirror

🛏️ Across the landing there is the blue twin room with a chest of drawers and a hanging rail

Then on the other side of the kitchen area there is

🛏️ The gorgeous olive double room with a dressing table and mirror, hanging rail and a chest of drawers

🛏️ The green twin beds - this is the smallest bedroom but still quite cute we think and has a ladder shelf for storing clothes and there should be space in the olive room opposite to keep any extra.

Abbots Bromley Horn Dance is next due on Monday 9th September in 2024. This annual event attracts visitors from around the world to view this spectacular and unusual display.

What's it about?

The Abbots Bromley Horn Dance is an English folk dance that probably dates back to the Middle Ages. The modern version of the dance involves reindeer antlers, a hobby horse, Maid Marian and a Fool.

The original horns, carbon-dated to be 1000 years old, are reindeer antlers. How they came to England and arrived in the village of Abbots Bromley is a mystery, but possibly they were brought over by the Vikings

Abbots Bromley is a historic village which can be traced back to before the Norman Conquest (1066AD). It is a small, countryside Staffordshire village, perfectly located for those who want to spend the whole time nestled in the house. Or, for those who want entertainment or activities to do, there is plenty on offer.

The Croft is within walking distance of 4 pubs, 2 Cafes and Country Farm Shops.

Alton Towers and Drayton Manor Theme Park are both just 16 miles away and West Midlands Safari Park is 35 miles away.

Visit the 800-year-old City of Lichfield and see the only medieval three-spired cathedral in the UK. Lichfield also hosts the homes of the lexicographer Samuel Johnson and the physician Erasmus Darwin.

Other places to visit nearby include the Staffordshire Regiment Museum, the Roman Site in nearby Wall and the National Memorial Arboretum. You can also enjoy walks and cycling at Cannock Chase and the Tissington Trail.

Abbots Bromley itself is steeped in history and home to several Grade II listed buildings, including the 13th Century St. Nicholas Church and the Alms houses, which were built in the early 17th century.

Abbots Bromley is also known for its annual Horn Dance, a traditional dance that has been performed in the village for over 900 years. This unique event takes place every September and attracts visitors from all over the world.
