For those of you that haven't....
Three Castles Trial is travelling through Eglwysbach again TODAY (Thursday 6th June). If everything is running to schedule the first car should be arriving at around 410pm.
Vintage cars from 1920s and up to the 1980s, will be coming down Ffordd Bryn Fran and turning right at the bottom.
They will then head their way to Bodnant Welsh Food (turning left at Ty Gwyn Rd) where they finish for the day.
There will be almost 80 cars passing through at non-competitive speeds.
Ffordd Bryn Fran isn't being closed, but please be aware of this if you are planning on driving up it.
All should be back to normal around 615pm.

Today has been out with the old and in with the new, we have invested in a brand new hot tub for our visitors and hopefully you will agree it looks stunning, we are doing our bit to go green, this new hot tub has a air source heat pump for warming the water.

Oedd Monty yma yn ffilmio (a thynnu llunia) o’r Terasau yma’n Gardd Bodnant yn barod at raglen newydd bydd yn dod allan rhyw adeg yn y dyfodol (dyddiad i cadarhau).

Diolch i Monty a’i thîm am ddod i weld ni yma’n Gardd Bodnant ar ddiwrnod mor braf ym mis Medi. Diolch I bawb a helpodd ar y diwrnod o’r tîm i gyd ac i ein hymwelwyr arbennig ni hefyd. Diolch o galon.

Last Wednesday we had a special visitor to the garden - gardener and author, Monty Don.

Monty was here filming (and taking photos) of the Terraces here in preparation for a future television programme (dates to be confirmed).

Thanks to Monty and his whole team for coming to Bodnant Garden, on what turned out to be a very lovely – and hot – September day. Thanks also to everyone on the day, from all of our team and our lovely visitors to the garden on the day. Your help was very much appreciated, thank you.

Following the hot, sunny weekend, the arch is certainly beginning to glow. There are still quite a few more of those beautiful blooms to ‘burst’ into life, but the arch is looking lovely already.

If you’re visiting over the next couple of weeks, we do strongly advise booking your tickets online beforehand. The car park does get very busy at times, so please be patient with our team in the car park and Visitor Reception.

Don’t forget, if you want to experience the arch in a whole new light, remember that from Monday 29th May to Sunday 11th June, you can also visit the garden during our extended opening times. This is a rare glimpse into a lost subterranean world that is as dangerous as it is spectacular. Miles of tunnels run beneath Llandudno's streets towards the Great Orme and out to sea. All were part of a 19th Century copper mine that may have been built on multiple levels, most long lost to flooding. For the past 37 years the Great Orme Exploration Society (GOES) has been learning more about Llandudno’s world famous copper mines, including those on the Great Orme itself. GOES volunteers have cleared an old rockfall in a ventilation shaft in the Ty Gwyn mine and hope to push on towards the 300ft-long Tyn y Fron shaft, long shut off by another blockage. Opening up this part of the mine, still largely unexplored, was a key goal of the society when it was formed in 1985. New discoveries are being made all the time in the tunnels that are accessible. Scores of artefacts have been recovered, from old Bovril jars to clay pipes and cow horns that held the black gunpowder used for blasting rock. Mine boots and clogs have been found in a corner, often near the end of a level being driven when the mine was abandoned. Bottles are commonplace, including one made by a Ruthin soda water company in the 1870s. http://bit.ly/3S5ZQqu

After updating the decking by installing composite decking, we are now installing some wrought iron fence, we are really pleased with the hot tub area now and it will be a great place for sunbathing when the sun returns 😁

Out with the old and in with the new composite decking around the hot tub, looking good and will be finished next week, just need the sun to shine so our guests can enjoy the new decking 😆👍
