We are lucky to have had wonderful reviews since we started running Tanar View 12 years ago. But it’s not just luck - it’s about the personal touches and the care we take to ensure our guests have the very best time. Over the years, we’ve thought about what we like when we go and stay somewhere and also we seek our guests feedback constantly for what they liked and if there’s anything we could improve. We take real pride in Tanar View and it still gives us a buzz when we get glowing reviews and guests tag us in their photos and posts. We’ve amalgamated some amusing stories over the years but we are very fortunate to have had really lovely and interesting people come to our wee haven in Royal Deeside.

**ARGH!!** 😢

Dear Customer....we have just this second been informed that Charlestown Road is to be dug up in front of us, starting tomorrow, and that parking will be suspended until works finish....currently scheduled to be 21st August!! Please be informed that all cars must be away from the road from 7am tomorrow morning!
The road will still be open, albeit with traffic lights, and our Car Park, whilst limited, will be accessible! We are most definitely OPEN! (You might just need to walk a little bit further to reach us! 😕)

Glen Tanar Estate has now completed the forestry operations between the Fungle path and the Allt Dinnie burn, which means that all the main paths (including the Fungle) on Craigendinnie Hill are open.

Our thanks to the local community/residents, Aberdeenshire council, SSE and Birse Estate for their patience, help and support whilst we undertook these difficult forestry operations, including a planned power outage.

The lovely viewpoint ‘Rest & Be Thankful’ now has a lovely view back over Aboyne once again.

Caution is still advised as there will still be some timber haulage activity for a while, so please stay well clear of any timber trucks, keep off timber stacks, and adhere to any safety signage.

Read on: @themilkhoose As part of Provenance Festival 21, we're excited to announce two opportunities to come and see what we're up to. You can join us on a Cheese Making Experience, learn and experience first-hand the artisan process of turning raw milk into award-winning cheese. After lunch in the Milk Hoose Café we’ll take a trip through our maturing rooms and finish with a tasting session of some of our cheeses. We’ve 4 adult spaces available for this experience on the 30th September, 10am - 3pm. Lunch and a piece of cheese of your choice are included in the price of £35/person. We're also offering Cheese Visitor Tours; we’re re-introducing our popular visitor tours for the festival. The 1hr tour gives you a taste of artisanal cheese-making and includes a short presentation in the comfort of our Café, you'll enjoy a tour of our facilities before finishing with a cheese tasting session. One of the things people love most about Tanar view are the birds! We are prolific bird feeders and there are even some wee feeders on the deck. Enjoy the sights of sounds of woodpeckers, chaffinches, sparrows, dunnocks, long tailed tits, blue tits and many more.
