Hello my dear Equus riders! Have you ever thought about joining our Three Parks Spectacular trail in the USA? We have just launched the 2025 dates for this ride and I am so very pleased to say that I will be accompanying this departure.

We're talking two weeks across some of the most incredible scenery of the Wild American West. Some quick facts...

๐ŸŽ This is an exclusive itinerary to Equus Journeys and our sister company Cheval d'Aventure. You won't find this ride anywhere else!
๐Ÿœ๏ธ The pace is not particularly fast but the terrain is somewhat demanding. This is suitable for strong intermediate and experienced riders with a zest for adventure.
๐ŸŒ  Whilst on the trail we will camp in two-man tents with foam mattresses provided. You should take your own sleeping bags. This is a pretty basic camp but we will be sleeping under a myriad of stars, culminating with a sleep-out on the north rim of the Grand Canyon... My kind of luxury!

What a great opportunity to share some exclusive new pictures from Macatoo camp in Botswana! These were shot in June - the very start of the flood season!

Did you know? The Okavango Delta is one of the worldโ€™s largest inland Deltas and one of Africa's prime wildlife watching location. This 15,000km2 wetland and wildlife haven is located deep within the Kalahari Desert: every year, usually come April/May, waters coming from Angola in the north of Botswana flood into the Delta, swelling it to three times its permanent size. The Delta is also a very flat area, with endless expanses of land and nothing to block the horizon. Ideal for faster riding!

Come and meet Jo, Francisca & Iris at this year's Dublin Horse Show. We will all be on hand to chat about our riding holidays and our most recent recce trips to South Africa, Botswana and Eswatini.

We will be joined by both Monte from KARA CREEK RANCH (Wyoming) and John from Macatoo camp (Botswana Horseback Safaris) - and we will also be running a competition to win a riding safari at Macatoo! ๐Ÿ˜‰

"This trip exceeded my expectations. To immerse in Tibetan and Chinese culture was a great experience. It was a good combination of riding in the high mountains in beautiful yak land and also see some temples and cities and the pandas (we did a modified version of the trip). Tashi was a fantastic guide who satisfied any wishes we might have and he looked after us so well during the whole trip. The hotels were very comfortable, camping was more basic, especially with the weather not always being so good (cold and rainy), but the back-up team was extremely helpful. The food was good and plenty and included nuts and dried fruit and sweets. Angela's home-made muesli was a dream! The horses were wonderful, easy-going and strong. The riding was not technically difficult despite some steep ascents and descents. Physical fitness was quite essential, our hike up to the pass at 4800 m was no walk in the park ๐Ÿ˜‰. This stunning trip leaves unforgettable impressions!"

Less than one month to go until the Dublin Horse Show ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ช

Jo, Francisca & Iris will be on hand to answer your questions and tell you all about their recent trips. We have extensive travel experience and have ridden all over the world, from the US to India, across Europe and Africa. We will be joined again by John from Macatoo camp ( Horseback Safaris) as an added bonus โ€“ and we are once again offering a lucky visitor the chance to win a riding safari at Macatoo!

Francisca was only recently in Bosnia testing out our new โ€œVia Dinaricaโ€ trail after a successful trip to Botswana (Tuli trail) and Eswatini earlier this year. Iris was also in Botswana with a grand tour of our Okavango Delta camps and the Kalahari. Our Jo spent a wonderful week at Antโ€™s Lodges in South Africa and is already plotting her returnโ€ฆ

The paths up, and down, are often steep and rocky, but the horses are sure-footed (I had a five year old for my rides and she never seemed to tire) and the guides are excellent (and know every twist and turn of the trails). The valley itself is also stunning and dotted with stone villages; it's not hard to understand why the valley is such a magnet for hikers and cyclists in the summer season. We are looking for 1-2 more riders in order to confirm this extraordinary adventure in the Himalayas. The beautiful and wild region of Mustang was only open to foreigners in 1992 - it is remote and still relatively unspoiled. From the Kali Gandaki valley, nestled between the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri massifs, this is a wonderful cultural and equestrian experience off the beaten track, exclusive to Equus Journeys.

We're getting excited for Badminton Horse Trials - one month to go! ๐Ÿพ

Our good friend John Sobey African Horseback Safaris will be joining us this year again. Originally from the UK, John moved to Africa to be a guide many moons ago (more than he would care to admit), and is now the charismatic figure running the show at Macatoo camp in the Okavango Delta, Botswana. Equus Journeys are horseback adventure specialists. We organise worldwide riding holidays for all levels of riding. We offer trail rides and riding holidays and specialise in equestrian traditions. With us, discover the Marwari horses of India, step in the boots of the US cowboys and help them in their work, ride with the Butteri of Italy or discover the Berber culture of southern Morocco. We have the right riding holiday for any rider and will be pleased to advise you on the best possible options for you, your family and your friends.

We travel the world to find the riding experiences that encompass our values, keeping equestrian traditions at the heart of our project. Over the years, we have travelled to Iceland to help the local farmers in their annual sheep round-up, worked with the gauchos of Argentina, visited Golega Fair in Portugal, and have been on countless other adventures.

At Equus Journeys, we think that a riding holiday is the opportunity to discover a new culture and open your mind to new horizons. As the saying goes, "travel is the only thing you buy that makes you richer"!
