JMI Planning was formed by Jim Malkin and Jon Imber. Jim and Jon are chartered town planners with over 30 years of combined experience of public and private sector planning. Jim and Jon forged a close working relationship working together at East Staffordshire Borough Council, where their pragmatic approach and complementary skill sets developed. They have a good working knowledge of the planning

system having collectively worked in both development management, forward planning and enforcement roles within local government, and have more recently been part of highly regarded private practices representing clients in a wide range of issues including the submission of planning applications and appeals. They have successfully dealt with a range of projects across both rural and urban areas, including housing schemes, nationally significant sports and leisure facilities, commercial scale renewable energy installations, retail and employment development and barn conversions. They have a keen design awareness and a good working knowledge of planning legislation and procedural issues.
