Who knew about a local alpaca walking experience www.norfolkalpacas.co.uk? (10mins by car from Seaview Cottage). I didn't, but my most recent guests did! How yummy do the refreshments look?!

"We love the beach walks on our doorstep every morning. We have been to Cromer & Sheringham with the dogs, breakfast at Smallsticks cafe. Best part was the alpaca walk & tea & cake at 'Alpaca Daily' near Trunch - very highly recommended - we were blessed with great weather too 🙂 "

The full moon photo taken by our last guests at 7pm from 'our' piece of beach. The sea view can also be seen from the cottage.

"Watching the sunrise with a glass of bubbles for my special birthday! Walks round Felbrigg / Blickling / Sheringham / along the cliff path of Cromer and of course the beautiful beach right on our door step here! .. so wonderful to be back again we all absolutely love it here!!"

The walk today along the beach to Sea Palling (12/3/25) was stunning, even in patchy sunshine. This time of year is perfect for beating the crowds to the more popular hot spots. The Sea Palling cafes were open, plenty of parking and the beaches deserted! This piece of beach is approx 15 minutes drive from Seaview Cottage.

What a sunrise this morning! Thank you to our current guests for sharing. Last weeks guests spent evenings under the stars and mornings watching the sun rise from the beach, there's something quite special and centering for the soul.

We've been busy compiling some local walks from the cottage. In fact starting from the front door is a short piece of public track leading to the beach. https://www.plotaroute.com/routecollection/16965

* 3 mile beach walk to The Ship Inn, Mundesley dog friendly restaurant and pub.
* 2.8 mile beach or cliff path walk to The Hill House Inn & Dancing Men Brewery Happisburgh, dog friendly pub and restaurant

Local food and drink:
* The Poachers Pocket pub and restaurant - 0.48mile beach walk, dog friendly inside and out.
* Cafe Carmel (vegan) - 0.17mile track and short piece of footpath, dog friendly inside and out.
* Kingfisher fish & chips - 0.75mile beach walk, dog friendly outside seating.
* Watsons Cafe - 0.4mile track and foot paving, dog friendly inside and out.

This is one of our favourite walks; National Trust Horsey Wind pump to Nelson Head pub (very dog friendly). The walk can be easily extended to the beach for some seal spotting. Check opening and serving times if you plan to stop for refreshments. Approximately 20mins by car from Seaview Cottage.

More excitingly, we have a dog friendly day boat currently being fitted with a quiet and smooth electric motor that you can hire to navigate the quiet and pristine waterways of the Upper Thurne. There's minimal river traffic thanks to the low river bridge at Potter Heigham limiting hire boats in this area, making this a really special area to travel by boat. Horsey Mere will be one of our dog friendly stop off points taking approximately 60mins each way by boat (various remote stop off points if needed along the way). Much more information will be posted when the boat is back from its refit.

I often think off-peak holidays are the best time of year; quiet beaches and prompt cafe service. This was Happisburgh beach at high tide today (5km walk or 8mins by car from the cottage). I love the way the offshore wind takes the tops off these rolling winter storm waves. Natures power can be quite mesmerising.

"First visit to Norfolk for all of us + the cottage couldn't have been more perfect. We even used the BBQ with the Wagu burgers from the farm up near Stalham (Common Lane). Good morning everyone from Norfolk! We just watched 'the happy dippers' group go for a sunrise swim at Sea Palling. The winter surfers have been out all morning too. Gorgeous way to start the day with the dogs.
