I often think off-peak holidays are the best time of year; quiet beaches and prompt cafe service. This was Happisburgh beach at high tide today (5km walk or 8mins by car from the cottage). I love the way the offshore wind takes the tops off these rolling winter storm waves. Natures power can be quite mesmerising.

"The location couldn’t be more perfect. Walk to the top of the road to the wonderful expanse of beach very dog friendly. Cafe Carmel in walking distance which is a great vegan cafe and dogs are allowed on the sofas. Also a short walk away is Watsons serving great breakfasts and other food also dog friendly. "First visit to Norfolk for all of us + the cottage couldn't have been more perfect. We even used the BBQ with the Wagu burgers from the farm up near Stalham (Common Lane). Just stopped to take the dogs out on what I thought was a grey, blowy dull day. The light on the stormy surf was stunning. I hope it's captured a taste of what the naked eye can see.

I love watching the Autumn sunrise and it's at a much more reasonable time too! These were taken this morning at the little gap down to the beach by Seaview Cottage. We've opened up the cottage for short breaks from Nov-Feb as well as week long holidays.

Good morning everyone from Norfolk! We just watched 'the happy dippers' group go for a sunrise swim at Sea Palling. The winter surfers have been out all morning too. Gorgeous way to start the day with the dogs.

A view we don't often see. The wild rabbits in the field next to the cottage had started to chew and dig their way under the old fence. The new concrete gravel boards have been part buried and then reinforced with lots of underground rubble, hopefully rabbit proofing the cottage garden way into the future.
