In case you were in danger of not noticing, today is International Women’s Day 💚
Our executive chef Aimee was thrilled when the TOAST] journal asked to feature her and our much-loved baker in a piece about what it means to work together, and amongst all our other wonderful local suppliers. This, of course, makes Aimee very happy, because raving about the producers we have on our doorstep is one of the things she’s most passionate about, and the 8th March seems an opportune time to highlight just how much of the food scene in our corner of the world is female-led 💪🏻 From cheesemakers Rose and Rachel , (and baker Kitty,of course), and the wonderful ’s Emma, to the incredibly talented Georgia of , Amelia (reinventing beans as we know them) and Emily of the stunning … The list goes on, and on.
At Pigs we’re proud to say our kitchen is precisely fifty percent female, our front of house significantly more. Our restaurant itself is brilliantly managed by Liz, a GM we thank our lucky stars for every day. Five Little Pigs just wouldn’t be the restaiurant it is without the women running it, and for that we are proud, and grateful, every day of the year.
