Rainy day ☔️ but it didn’t stop us from delivering our service to the local community. I took Pam and her friend Lynn to Richmond Park and helped Pam go around the park in her wheelchair. We had a lovely cup of coffee and sandwiches at Colicci Roehampton Gate restaurant . Pam was very happy to get fresh air at the park and see some wild animals.

One of my trips this week was taking a client on a holiday break to Butlin's.

I picked the client up early and we made our way over to meet the Options Supported Holidays rep to have a smooth handover from my client's home to her holiday accommodation for the week.

It was great to meet up with Driving Miss Daisy Wallington who was also taking a client there on holiday.

Today I helped 10 residents and 4 carers from Belmont house care home to visit Lavender Farm in Banstead doing multiple trips .

I was really pleased to meet Aiden Perris from Driving Miss Daisy Birmingham North last week and learn more about the service the company offers, as I am conscious that access to transport and mobility are issues often raised with me.

Aiden offers a safe and reliable assisted transportation and companionship service which empowers people to get out and live life to the full. If someone, or a member of the family, need that little bit of extra compassion to move at their own pace, the service provides independence and peace of mind.

I learned that whether someone has mobility issues or special medical requirements, the companion driving service is often seen as just a wheelchair taxi, when in reality they offer much more than assisted transportation.

It is often assumed that the service is only for the older generation or wheelchair users. False news! OUR SERVICE IS FOR EVERYONE!

We support loads of children, young people and their families every day with school runs and transport to and from day centres, but on occasion, we are privileged to be asked to accompany children on school trips and to once-in-a-lifetime experiences that they otherwise wouldn't be able to attend. AND WE LOVE IT!

All of our companion drivers have enhanced DBS certificates, safeguarding children training, and, most importantly, they know how to have fun. 🥳
