If you are planning a visit with young children, elderly people or anyone with mobility issues, this is certainly the better beach to go to. Toilets, pubs and shops are all close by and the beach is only five minutes from the car park.

Litter audit timelapse
At the end of the Keep Britain Tidy campaign, we thought we would share something we did over the summer... A litter audit with Damers First School. Ocean Recovery Project did this great timelapse of the kids sorting out two large bins worth of rubbish collected directly from the beach.
In total:
172 plastic bottles, 72 glass bottles all alcoholic, 37 soft drink cans and 34 alcoholic cans (71 cans in total), 23 coffee cups. 6 pieces of plastic cutlery, 8 plastic cups
Interesting items: Deliveroo cool bag, a waterski, umbrellas x2 , 2 brand new frisbees from the Works, a plastic bucket, 2 brand new spades, swimming goggles, 2 inflatables, Superman bag, 2 cigarette lighters, 5 small gas canisters, small plastic fan, Metal BBQ, 2 fold up chairs. Clothes: x2 flip flops, sportif shorts, t - shirts.

What next?
Is the beauty that mother nature created not enough?
Just because it is there, doesn't mean you should jump off, climb up… or fly through it. The widespread publicity around #durdledoor has made our national icon a target for everyone wanting a viral sensation. Our beach warden Tim said the smell of kerosene was overwhelming, the noise deafening and the military-grade drone; intimidating. Not the experience our beach-goers want at a natural World Heritage Site.
