In Wareham in April!

David Hepworth and Mark Ellen’s One Man Show in Wareham on the 4th April.

David Hepworth and Mark Ellen are two of the UK’s best music journalists. As well as writing (and launching) some of the Uk top pop culture mags such as Smash Hits, Heat, Q and The Word they have also presented the BBC’s Old Grey Whistle Test and were anchors for the Beeb’s coverage for Live Aid in 1985. Since 2006 they have presented the popular Podcast ‘Word in Your Attic’, interviewing a host of musicians and broadcasters.

The evening will be a entertaining trip into their fascinating careers, filled with amusing anecdotes and insights into their first hand encounters with musical icons.

Wareham’s local history group are holding their first talk of 2025 on the 15th January. It should be interesting one - with Pam White from the National Trust talking about what the archaeological and written documentary evidence can tell us about Corfe Castle's history.

New Purbeck Guitar Festival Concert announced!

***Special announcement for the Purbeck Guitar Festival ***

We are pleased to announced a new concert for the Purbeck Guitar Festival this summer. Duo Multicorde is a partnership between harpist Maria-Theresa Freibott and guitarist Andrés Madariaga. Their debut album in 2021 has been described as a ’sensual’ ‘rich blend of sound’. The duo will be premiering a new piece written for them by Cuban guitarist and composer, Leo Brouwer.
The concert will take place on the 20th June at the Priory Church of Lady St Mary in Wareham.
