It’s inspection time!
Every 12 weeks our vehicles undergo a full MOT type inspection to highlight any repairs, possible future faults and general maintenance. This is a requirement of our operators licence and forms just part of the elements that help keep us safe and legal whilst out and about.

Are you someone who doesn’t like to compromise on your appearance but still likes to go on adventures? Well, you can! 🥳 After all, you need to be picture perfect at all times for the Gram, am I right?

Jokes aside there are some real old school stigmas still about that when trekking or adventuring you should look like you’ve been in the outback for months roughing it and of course, if that’s you that’s ok however, the time has come for that to change should you wish. As long as it’s practical why not do your hair in the morning in your tent, or have your nails on fleek whilst heading to Everest Base Camp, it’s your life, live it and live it how you please. Apply that mascara, paint those nails, coordinate that outfit, do what makes you feel happy and be content in the knowledge it’s perfectly ok

If you are heading out into the hills and mountains at this time of year you should always go prepared and essential items include map, compass, headtorch, extra layers and more. You should also consider your route, it gets dark early, will you complete it, can you navigate competently in the dark if not, should you choose a different option? There are a lot more considerations for hill and mountain walking at this time of year so make sure you know what you are getting yourself into and how to stay safe.

We spend a huge amount of our time each season introducing young people to the outdoors via the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award. It’s a privilege to see it pay off sometimes. These 3 could have sat playing on their phones but instead choose to sit, chat and watch the sun go down. Mission complete!

The Llanberis Mountain Rescue Team is a fully voluntary organisation who respond to those in need on Snowdon and the surrounding mountains. The Team is on-call 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and relies entirely on donations from members of the public to carry out this essential life-saving rescue service.
