🌻 July offer 🌻

We have a few dates left throughout July in The Farriers & The Dairy.

I am offering free ferry travel for all guests who book directly with us for the remaining July dates.

Return car ferry tickets can either be with Red Funnel from Southampton or Wightlink from Portsmouth or Lymington.

The Dairy can sleep up to 3 guests in a kingsize bedded room and a single bedded room.

The Farriers can sleep up to 4 guests in a kingsize bedded room and a bunk bedded room (full 3ft bunk bed).

Each cottage has an open planned kitchen, lounge diner with French doors leading out into an enclosed garden and a bathroom with walk in shower.

We have private access on site straight onto the Old Railway Line which is part of the 32 mile Red Squirel trail. We are surrounded by miles of bridleways and footpaths, perfect for walking, cycling and dog walking.

Don’t forget to bring your doggies along for the holiday. We allow up to 2 dogs per cottage at no extra cost.

Fancy a staycation this year? Visit us on the beautiful Isle of Wight!

Our cottages are the perfect base for exploring all the island has to offer. We are surrounded by miles of footpaths and bridleways right from your door step, perfect for the whole family 🐶

Today we went over to Freshwater. We walked over Tennyson Downs and along to The Needles attraction. We then got the Downs Breezer into Totland to explore some more!

Happy Easter! I hope you’ve had a lovely long weekend.

We spent our afternoon on Ventnor downs. Did you know you can walk along Wroxall and Ventnor downs right from your cottage door with no roads in sight! Or alternatively you can drive up to the downs. It’s 5 minutes down the road by car and there’s plenty of free parking when you arrive.

I hope you enjoy the rest of your bank holiday evening, I’m off to eat some more chocolate 🍫 😂

So today I thought I’d get a nice video of my Bertie in the gardens of our cottages, however Bertie had other ideas and decided to show how perfect they are for his fellow pups to get out there ‘zoomies’.

Our gardens are fully enclosed to keep your doggies safe whilst staying with us.

Wow another fantastic season…

This year we welcomed 337 guests to our cottages!

It was great to see so many familiar faces returning again this year and meeting lots of new ones.

I’d like to take this opportunity to thank each and everyone of you for choosing to stay with us.

As always a shout out to The Isle of Wight Biscuit Company for providing us with delicious biscuits for our welcome packs.

Our cottages are now closed throughout November. We are however taking bookings for 2024, be quick we’re booking up quickly!

🐴Meet our resident horses 🐴

Sam, Junior & Doodles are my three boys.

Sam is a 23 years old Shire X. He’s a big gentle giant with an awesome moustache! He loves hacking and has been the ’baby sitter’ to many younger ponies over the years. In more recent years Sam has been teaching my 4 year old son Louie to ride. He’s fantastic with children and loves a visitor! His favourite snack is a custard doughnut… (sshh top secret!) His only dislikes are puddles!

Junior is a 12 year old Arab x Welsh. He may be little but is one of the speediest ponies I’ve ever met! He absolutely loves jumping. It’s his favourite thing to do and over the years we’ve competed in all disciplines. I’m yet to find anything Junior won’t jump…
Don’t let his good looks fool you… he’s very very cheeky!!! His favourite snack is BBQ beef hula hoops! His dislike is sheared sheep… hairy sheep are fine. Work that one out….

Doodles is a 25 year old Dutch Warmblood. He’s one of the loveliest kindest horses you’ll ever meet. He’s now taking life easy and enjoying his well earned retirement. In his day he was very successful, he’s had some fantastic wins all over the Uk in all disciplines. Doodles is such a handsome chap but is often seen sticking his tounge out!! His favourite snack is bananas. His dislike is rain!! (Can’t blame him on that one)

All three boys have had many visits from our lovely guests over the last few years and hope for many more!

Alongside my 3 boys our farm is home to 12 other horses who are all privately owned.

Have you met Peter the peacock yet during your stay?

Peter the peacock is a local in the area and has been for some years. He spends a lot of his time around the farm. Sometimes you can hear him before you see him. He’s a happy chap and a very popular resident with the locals…

I’m sure you’ll agree, he’s very handsome! 🦚
