Thanks to our Travel Partner Caribtours, Joseph has just returned from a lovely 4 night trip to Bermuda.
After a very civilised 3pm departure from Heathrow and after a short 6 hour 30 minute flight on British Airways, he arrived at his hotel, Cambridge Beaches in time for dinner!
The next few days were spent exploring the Island, visiting historic St Georges (did you know it is twinned with Lyme Regis?) wandering its capital Hamilton, with its many bars and shops and driving around via Tuk Tuk, to see its many churches, forts and flower laden parks.
The island has a great choice of hotels, with Hamilton home to the historic Fairmont Princess, set on the waterfront, Grotto Bay, just 15 minutes from the airport, which has a very relaxed vibe and even a Spa which is set in underground caves! The luxurious Rosewood hotel has one of the best beach clubs as well as onsite golf course whilst Cambridge Beaches is ideal for those wanting to get away from the hustle and bustle with its lovely individual cottage style rooms looking over stunning beaches and Marina. Plus the very cosy Sunken Harbor Club, with a relaxed bar and exciting menu, is the perfect place to spend an evening.
Discovery this hidden gem, which is part of the Commonwealth and has its own identity and history and is, as many assume not part of the Caribbean!
From warm summers and gentle breezes from the Atlantic it really is a year round destination!
