Activities run from the centre include: Friendship Clubs for the over 50's, luncheon clubs, pre-school, after school clubs, play schemes and English language classes. The Centre also provides a venue for groups such as the ‘Wom

en Have a Go Group’ and an ICNA (information centre for new arrivals to the UK), to name just a few. Warm spaces news for tomorrow 22/02/2025

As a slight change to our usual warm spaces , the Wellingborough Interfaith Group have offered to step in and support warm space activities and will be hosting a Global Lunch in the Bailey room. All are welcome as this is still a warm and welcome space with a free meal.

We have chicken and salad, pasta and meatballs or vegetarian pasta.

A local area quiz has been prepared by a volunteer and we will have art for mindfulness.

We had a brief chat with Bridie Egan yesterday (Director of Face 2 Face Recruitment) about her mission to support members of the local Wellingborough Homeless community with essential items on Friday 17th January 2025 6pm.

Bridie popped in to collect a clothes donation from the Milap Dostiyo friendship group.

Please find information about this event in the attached and do please contact the organiser directly with donations if you can help.

WARM SPACE - COMMUNITY CAFE NEWS.

There will be a 'POP-UP' FREE warm space this weekend -
Saturday 11th January 2025 11:30am - 13:30pm due to requests & local demand.

Please note timings and that this is a pop up event. We will review weekly and update accordingly. If you would like to donate towards, or sponsor our warm spaces... please contact the office between 9&5 Monday to Friday.

This week visitors can enjoy lunch with us.

Rough Sleeping and Housing Options Team SWEP protocol active & extended:

SWEP - OPERATIONAL UNTIL AT LEAST THE MORNING OF 6th JANUARY 2024

Due to the weather forecast predicting sub-zero temperatures across North Northamptonshire, the Council is extending it’s Severe Weather Emergency Protocol (SWEP). SWEP will be operational for 3 nights, but this will be kept under daily review.

The Rough Sleeping and Housing Options Teams have been working closely to ensure that all known and verified rough sleepers have been offered accommodation from this evening.

They will keep the weather forecast under daily review and will issue further communications in regarding any extensions or to confirm when SWEP ceases to be operational.

The whereabouts and identity of any person sleeping rough should be reported to the Rough Sleeping Team during office hours, and to the Council’s Out of Hours Service at all other times as follows:

As we reflect on the past year, we are filled with gratitude for the incredible support and dedication you have shown us. Your involvement has made a significant impact and we are truly thankful for each and every one of you.

This year has been filled with memorable moments and achievements. Whether you participated in our events, trusted us with your childcare needs, or simply spread the word about our services, you have played a vital role in our successes.

We would like to wish you and your loved ones a joyful holiday season filled with happiness. We hope that memories are shared, and that new memories are created for you all to call upon again in later years during a period of rest. Here is to a prosperous 2025!

Please note that Victoria Centre will be closing for the season at the end of the day on 20th December 2024. We will reopen for bookings and childcare services on 2nd January 2025.

We can't wait to welcome you back in the new year.
