If anyone took a great picture whilst staying with us on or off the beach, at the farm or in wells we would love to see!

We are looking for more pictures for our socials so drop us a picture of your memories made this year!!!

As some may be aware and for those that aren’t. There is currently a planning notice for our field, more specially our main holiday livery field which we run our Caravan site and horse holidays from. We just wanted to say a few words since we are now being asked so many questions by our customers and potential future customers.

No we aren’t in favour (of course) this isn’t something we wanted to happen and are currently doing all we can to prevent it going through.
If we owned the land then this wouldn’t be a situation, however we are currently generational tenants of the farm and can have land taken back each year up to a certain size so unfortunately of all the land we rent this is the chosen area.
Yes there is other more suitable parcels of land around wells but they have decided to pursue this one.
Despite many meetings we legally have no say.

However
This isn’t something to happen in the near future so currently we are still taking bookings a year in advance as we will have a few years notice.
The planning is still on the North Norfolk District Council website and currently still hoping for lots of objections before they close it for consideration.
We aren’t planning on closing or shutting down and quite frankly we hope and pray it won’t come to it but if by some awful chance they accept it as suitable place to build we will relocate.
No it will never be the same.
No it won’t be the same size or cater for the same amount of people but it’s more the reason for us to work against the planning location. This field helps us continue to farm and support the farming part of us that we live for.

We have spent 25 years by hand building our business and customers who we cherish so dearly. No help or financial backing will replace what that field has meant to me, my father, my grandfather and generations before.

We will keep you all informed in our fight but for now we are here and we are open.

How high is high tide? 🌊🌊

Well maybe the picture of this morning’s tide will show you! We went to check out the high tide and let a baby horse see some water without the spooky waves.

Always check tide times when riding to the beach as it will come in right up to the bay and you’ll have little or no beach to ride on! It’s amazing to see but if you’ve come to stay with us for a good run on the beach I’d stick to low tide!!

First picture this morning (21/8) and second is the same place at low tide just past the sign you see.

18/08/2024

There are very large tides at the moment.
The risk of tidal cut off is high.
There are areas of beach/marsh that will be flooded over the next few high tides that aren't usually.

Help to keep yourself safe-
Get back to the main part of the beach dry sand/land
at least four hours before the Wells bar high tide times Which is hours before sunset! (See times below)

Tuesday 20/8/24: High tide on Wells beach is 07:18 & 19:58

Wednesday 21/8/24: High tide on Wells beach 07:59 & 20:40

Thursday 22/8/24 High tide on Wells beach is 08:39 & 21:20

Friday 23/8/24 High tide on Wells beach is 09:20 & 22:00
