As some may be aware and for those that aren’t. There is currently a planning notice for our field, more specially our main holiday livery field which we run our Caravan site and horse holidays from. We just wanted to say a few words since we are now being asked so many questions by our customers and potential future customers.
No we aren’t in favour (of course) this isn’t something we wanted to happen and are currently doing all we can to prevent it going through.
If we owned the land then this wouldn’t be a situation, however we are currently generational tenants of the farm and can have land taken back each year up to a certain size so unfortunately of all the land we rent this is the chosen area.
Yes there is other more suitable parcels of land around wells but they have decided to pursue this one.
Despite many meetings we legally have no say.
However
This isn’t something to happen in the near future so currently we are still taking bookings a year in advance as we will have a few years notice.
The planning is still on the North Norfolk District Council website and currently still hoping for lots of objections before they close it for consideration.
We aren’t planning on closing or shutting down and quite frankly we hope and pray it won’t come to it but if by some awful chance they accept it as suitable place to build we will relocate.
No it will never be the same.
No it won’t be the same size or cater for the same amount of people but it’s more the reason for us to work against the planning location. This field helps us continue to farm and support the farming part of us that we live for.
We have spent 25 years by hand building our business and customers who we cherish so dearly. No help or financial backing will replace what that field has meant to me, my father, my grandfather and generations before.
We will keep you all informed in our fight but for now we are here and we are open.
