Which of 3 bedrooms would you pick?

Our luxury lodges at Merklands Wood sleep 6 guests. 2 rooms offer super king beds and the third two twin beds.

Guests often comment how comfortable the mattresses are with a recent guests asking where they could get their hands on one!

🧀 what’s better than cheese? The gift of cheese! Our welcome baskets are full of goodies from local businesses including who supply us with delicious Corra Linn wedges. Corra Linn is a hard ewes' milk cheese with nutty flavours and sweet notes. 🤤

Another local business we collaborate with is the wonderful .

Our complimentary gin is hand crafted for us by the award-winning team at Pentland Hills Gin (who have been awarded the Scottish Gin of the Year 2022) with the added sweet and fresh flavour from the juniper berries grown here in Merklands Wood.

You can’t beat a gin and tonic sat by the wood burning stove on a dark and cold evening 🥰

Here at Merklands Wood Luxury Lodges, we strive to collaborate with local businesses. Over the next few posts, we’d like to share some with you.

Forget some toiletries, don’t stress. We gift our guests handmade shampoo and soap bars from the wonderful . The bars are handmade with natural ingredients and are vegan friendly!

Guests in the past have commented on how incredible they smell and love that they can take them home to keep on enjoying the products.

We know how important it is to take our dogs on holiday with us which is why we know how important it is for you to take your dogs with you on holiday.

That’s why both the Luxury lodges here in the Merklands Wood are pet friendly. All our 4 legged guests get their own welcome basket 🧺

Our regular followers and our guests know that we are big supporters of the saving wildcats project but we have come here to the Spanish Pyrenees to an area where we have been reliably informed that we could see some European Wildcats in the wild 😜

Here in the Merklands Wood we feel privileged to live in such a beautiful place. The hills and countryside provide fantastic walking and cycling opportunities straight from the door of our Luxury Lodges yet we are only 30 minutes from Edinburgh City Centre.

They run the most beautiful period cottage properties in the Peak District. They are very different to the Luxury Lodges here in the Merklands Wood.

To increase the biodiversity we planted a wildflower meadow three years ago. It is now coming on and the first flowers to come out are these Ox Eye daisies. How will you improve your environment?

We love looking after our guests here in the Merklands Wood but we also look after the wildlife. We have provided lots of habitat for hedgehogs and have a thriving population. The Merklands Wood hens are also fascinated by them 🤣🤣🤣
