Got back to Phuket yesterday from a very good friend's wedding which was a 5 hour schlep north of Bangkok (made the front page of the BangkokPost don't ya know😉, fantastic traditional Thai Buddhist ceremony) , and spent a couple of nights in the beautiful Sirinat National Park. Another simply stunning area of Phuket. 9km of beach, need I say more? Today, I have arrived for the first of three nights at Elephant Hills. Absolutely outstanding and will update you tomorrow on today's activities. Not to be missed!

As promised, here are some of the pictures from my second snorkel outing. Pictures of the Lion Fish are a bit cloudy but you get the idea.
As I've mentioned before, the food is out of this world here. Full of fresh flavours and spices. Will post some pics and a menu tomorrow to give you some idea of prices.

Well, today I was going to post pictures of my snorkeling trip. Top tip for you - when taking pictures with your underwater camera, do make sure that you have it set to photo rather than video! I ended up with videos that start and end with the fish I was trying to take pics of, and a waving camera in between. Not ideal 😉 I shall be going back out tomorrow and hope that the fish play ball.
In the meantime, here are a couple of pictures I took yesterday, one during the day from my sunbed and the other one from my terrace, whilst chilling on our giant sun lounger with Mrs. Alan after a lovely Thai meal in the evening (keep an eye on this page as I will post some details of the food - and costs- out here).

Currently staying at The Cape Panwa Hotel and Spa Phuket in this wonderful two bedroom Family Villa. The private pool is incredible and it's been really relaxing to have a late night dip in (as organised by my two daughters- they always wanted to swim later in the evening but never could as the pools were always closed by then in most hotels!). If you're going to go on holiday soon, it's worth checking if your passport is still valid. Some destinations actually need you to have up to six months validity left from when you enter the country. Worth checking.

You can save time by using the new service from HM Passport Office.

They've launched a new online passport renewal service as part of its drive to improve customer services. The new service means that the majority of adults can now renew their passport online. Following a successful pilot in 2016, over 240,000 people have renewed their passport online using the new service

· You’ll need a debit or credit card to use this service.
· It should take 6 weeks to get your first adult passport once your form has been received. For all other application types, it should take 3 weeks.
· It can take longer if more information is needed or your application hasn’t been filled out correctly.
· You should use a different service if you need your passport urgently.
