Hello there, we're First Bus in Wessex, Dorset and South Somerset. We're your local bus service, here to get you where you need to go - and more than just A to B. Buses bring people closer by helping society go about their day and opening up new experiences. We call it Moving the Everyday, because that's what we're here to do. day. Each double-decker bus can take up to 75 cars off the road, and reduce congestion and improving the air we all breathe. As one of the UK's largest bus operators and part of FirstGroup, we're making paying for travel simpler with 'Tap On, Tap Off' and working towards a fully zero-emission fleet by 2035 - creating better travel for people, communities and the environment. School routes update.
A2 Will resume normal route this afternoon.
B5 will do the reverse of this morning's journey.
A1 will also do the reverse of this morning's journey.
All other routes are fully operational.
This decision has been made due to some trees not being confirmed as being removed

School service weather update.
A2 school service update. Unfortunately we have just been informed that due to a fallen tree the road is closed at Lambert's castle. This now means our A2 service cannot operate in any capacity. We are working with local authorities to get the trees sorted for the pm journey this afternoon. We will update when we know more on this.
B5 will not serve Nethrhay and Drimpton, it will serve Broad Windsor, however maybe late.
A1 is running 30 mins late
B1 is running 20mins late
Again this is due to fallen trees and we will update when we know more.

A2 school service update. Unfortunately due to a large fallen tree our bus is stuck at Holditch. We are currently on route to the bus to get it reversed out and change the route as it will then operate from Chard junction to the school. This is going to cause a delay of approx 90 mins. Apologies for any inconvenience this may cause.

We have been informed by Wessex water the works at Holditch are finished. This means A2 service can return to normal route tomorrow.

Unfortunately the A2 service is remaining on diversion due to Wessex water works. Chard Junction remains as the nearest stop for Holditch.

School routes winter weather 2nd update.
B1. Will operate main road A356 only and will not serve Rampisham and Benville.
B2. Will operate as normal from Dorchester and will then operate via the A356 to Maiden Newton and Cattistock square. Bus will then turn back to the A356 and operate main road only to Beaminster school, no other areas will be served.
B4. Will operate Holywell, Evershot and at Clarkham cross the bus will turn back and operate via A356 to the school. It will not serve Halstock, Corscombe and Cheddington.
6A. Normal service.
This is due to black ice and roadworks. The reverse will apply for pm journey. Apologies for any inconvenience caused. Stay safe everyone if you are travelling.

A2. Will start service at Kittwhistle to Woodroofe school, the same as yesterday.

C2. Will operate via A35 and will serve Litton Cheney bus shelter, Askerswell and Shipton Gorge. There will be no service for Little and Long Bredy and school lane Litton Cheney.

This is due to black ice in a lot of areas. All pm journeys will operate the reverse of these amazing journeys.

School routes winter weather 2nd update.
B1. Will operate via main road A356 only and not serve Rampisham and Benville.

B4. Will operate main road only via A356, this will not serve Holywell, Evershot, Corscombe or any other areas off the main road.

Buses will try to stay as close to times as possible along main roads in relation to villages nearby so students can still use these services.
Apologies for any inconvenience this has caused but due to snow and ice it's not possible to get in and out of the affected villages. The reverse will apply for this afternoons journeys. Stay safe everyone when travelling.

A2. Will start service at Kittwhistle and will serve Black down and Marshwood and onto the school. No other areas will be served before Kittwhistle.

C2. Will not serve Little Bredy, Long Bredy and Litton Cheney. Service will operate via A35 and serve, Askerswell and Shipton Gorge and onto school.

B1. Normal service.
B2. Normal service.
B4. Will operate Holywell and Evershot as normal. The bus will then turn and go back via A37 to Closworth and pick up at Adams Green.The bus will then turn again and go back to Holywell, Evershot and direct to the Fox Inn Corscombe, this maybe a bit late at the Fox Inn. Service will operate normally from the Fox Inn to the school, again running a little late.
As in the first update it is planned at the moment for the pm journey in reverse. However this may change due to the snow that is forecast later.

Most services are like to have some delays as they will be running at a reduced speed due to ice.
Please be aware at this point the reverse will apply to pm journeys, however this may change later as snow is forecast for later. We are in communication with the schools over this and if changes occur we will of course update you here.

Further school route update. B1 and B2 are both fully operational as are all other routes apart from B4 as described in previous post.
We will be assessing these Wednesday, Thursday and Friday morning as there is still a risk of snow and ice in these areas.
