Tank enthusiasts at the ready - It's Tiger Day at the Bovington Tank Museums April 26th 2025

The Tiger tank, officially known as the Panzerkampfwagen VI Tiger, was a German heavy tank used during World War II. One interesting fact about the Tiger tank is that it was renowned for its powerful 88mm gun, which was capable of destroying enemy tanks at long ranges. Despite its formidable firepower and thick armor, the Tiger tank was also known for its mechanical complexity and high maintenance requirements, which often limited its operational effectiveness.

Public Notice of a beach closure - but it’s fascinating to watch the machines at work operation King Canute against the tides!

We are equally fortunate that there are also lots of other beautiful beaches in the area to enjoy while the work is carried out!

👀 Weymouth beach will be closed for four days between Monday 10th and Thursday 13th February between the Pavilion Theatre end up to the Jubilee Clock.

🏖️ This is for essential levelling works to take place to allow the beach to recover after winter and get ready for the season ahead.
