Illuminate Winter Lights Trail presented O T Event Technicians LTD continues this weekend. Lots of new installations and features, that can be enjoyed with family and friends. The Cafe, Plant Centre and Gift Shop are all open for hot drinks, treats and Christmas shopping as well! Tickets are available for this weekend and then a selection of dates until 4th January.

Abbotsbury Swannery, The Fleet, Chesil Beach and glorious West Dorset Countryside 🤩

Just a short drive or bus ride from Weymouth a trip to Abbotsbury during a winter break in Weymouth is definitely well worth adding to your wish list. The Swannery is closed during the winter month but Abbotsbury Subtropical Gardens is open with an extra attraction of incredible evening illuminations between now and the new year, the village of Abbotsbury is a delight to wander around and the whole area offers some fabulous coast and countryside walks.

It does feel like winter has arrived early this year. This morning was very wintry indeed with a thick frost, mist and now bare trees. I spent pre sunrise at one of my favourite go-to places, Wareham, where I enjoyed this very beautiful pastel and misty scene. I then went to Corfe Castle in time to see the sun appear from a cloud bank and light up a very frosty foreground (I’ll share that one tomorrow).
