We just had an enquiry for our Treetops studio cabin and I realised that the first weekend we have available is in mid May! Weekends in our cabins book well in advance so do take a look if you would like a romantic break near Whitby in 2025. And there are mid week slots available too.

The Hideaway merges so well with the natural environment that you have to look for it. The Cleveland Way National Trail is a 109-mile (175 km) walking route through stunning and diverse landscapes. Officially opened on May 24, 1969, it was the second recognised National Trail in England and Wales. The trail passes through the historic smuggler's village of Robin Hood's Bay and the popular seaside resorts of Scarborough and Whitby.

We’ve just updated our webpage to show the new swing seat at Treetops studio cabin. And other extras such as a microwave. The swing seat catches the winter sun but is sheltered too. At the top of the woodland it is the perfect spot to watch the wildlife and listen to the stream below. The next weekend availability in Treetops is 7/9 March but we’ve some midweek spots available before then.

It may well be summer before we are fully open again. By that time the interior of our cabins will all have been given a little facelift. So before I share the results of the work we are doing now here is a reminder of how lovely our site and cabins were last summer.

Rosie doesn’t mind the fact that business is quiet. Daily beach walks are much more fun than cleaning cabins.

A very special place

We moved to Valley View in March 2019 and have been welcoming guests to our log cabins in this very special place from day one. Many customers return several times a year, bowled over by the environment and accommodation. There is an amazing variety of walking from the site. And nearby Whitby is one of North Yorkshires favourite seaside destinations

Valley View log cabin and our studio woodland rooms nestle in our private woodland. At the end of a no through road, in the North York Moors National park, the site has with breathtaking views and a feeling of total tranquility. Yet you are only two miles from the iconic seaside town of Whitby, which can be reached on foot along the cinder track, or a 30 minute walk to Fylingdales Moor.

All our cabins have central heating, ensuite bathrooms and some cooking facilities. You can also walk through the woods to a good local pub which serves food 7 nights a week.
