Cosy two bedroom cottage nestled in the hamlet of Esk Valley between Grosmont and Goathland. Ideal for steam railway enthusiasts, walkers or those looking for a holiday away from the hustle and bustle. Recently refurbished to a high standard, the cottage is double glazed, centrally heated and sleeps four. A spacious kitchen/diner with stone floor provides a bright airy place to eat until it is tim

e to snuggle up in front of the stunning open fire where you can watch TV or browse the large collection of DVDs and books. The private garden to the rear has a large summer house. There is parking for one car with an EV charger available. The owners live just next door so are on hand to help if you need them. Well behaved dogs welcome. Changeover day is Friday for 7 night or 3 night stays and Monday for 4 night stays (subject to availability)

🌊✨Wow! It’s been a very busy salty year so far!

🐬🐟 Not only have we been collecting our mineral-rich seawater off our wildlife-rich Jurassic coast at Whitby, often accompanied by Dolphins, Seals, and even a Humpback Whale 🐋, to create our 100% natural Whitby Sea Salt crystals using only the wind and the sun ☀️💨, just as nature intended, but we have also been developing new products and collaborations with local businesses to create their own unique offerings.

The ban on dogs at Whitby's main beach and along the Yorkshire Coast ended on October 1st, allowing your furry friends to return to their favourite sandy spots. 🐾

Our friends at Grosmont Crossing Club now offer a weekly membership. It's a fabulous little club with a great selection of real ales. Well worth a visit or two while you are staying in the area.

April, May and June have been booked solid but we have a few available dates in July and August. Get in touch if you fancy a last minute break.

King Charles III passing Lambton Cottage, Esk Valley on the Royal Train hauled by LNER A3 Flying Scotsman

The Royal Train, hauled by The Flying Scotsman, has just passed us by, accompanied by a police helicopter. Apparently King Charles was heard to say 'I wonder if Lambton Cottage has any availability in July?'

It's North Yorkshire Moors Railway #steamgala and we've had the pleasure of seeing 60007 Sir Nigel Gresley passing by again. Here she is coming into Goathland Station

Update. Only one summer week remains. Hooray! The North Yorkshire Moors Railway has started running again. This is the view from Lambton Cottage, Esk Valley We've only got two weeks available right through until mid October. Friday 15th July and Friday 12th August (now booked). Be quick!

Irish folk sessions musicians in The Golden Lion, Whitby

There's always lots to do in Whitby but I don't think you'll find anything better than the Irish Folk Session in The Golden Lion Whitby Second Tuesday of the month 7.30pm start.

It might be raining but it's so good to see the North Yorkshire Moors Railway preparing to run regular services again. They are 'shadow' running at the minute to make sure the engines, crews and everything else is good to go when they start operating on 15th May. We've missed them chuffing past Lambton Cottage.
