SHIVER M’TIMBERS, THE SPANISH HAVE INVADED WHITBY!

IT APPEARS THAT WHEN ENGLAND DEFEATED THE NETHERLANDS IN THE EURO’S, IT PROMPTED SPAIN TO INVADE WHITBY.
Last Wednesday, the 500 tonne Spanish Galleon, “Andalucia”, sailed it to Whitby Harbour and intends to stay there until Monday 15th. (Obviously, they will need to recover from being beaten by England in the Final), before sailing south, to Scarborough.

Mandy and I, along with some close friends, have just stayed at Treasure Chest Whitby and attended the “Whitby Krampus Run” on the weekend of the Feast of St Nicholas.
Although it was our first Krampus run, it was the ninth to be held in Whitby and is now the largest Krampus Run in the UK.

Everyone knows that “Nice” children are rewarded at Christmas but have you ever considered what St Nicholas does with the “Naughty Ones”?

A fabulous parade to the Whalebones, with wonderful costumes and eerie music. Torchlit dancing by the harbourside and a Grand Ball later in the Metropol Lounge and all proceeds to local charities.

The start to September has certainly been one that we will all remember, with a change of Monarch and Prime Minister. Somehow conversations about holidays and having a good time didn’t seem appropriate. Many of us have paid our respect to the Late Queen and now have wiped our tears away. Many of us will have refocused upon making every day count and vowed not to hesitate when opportunities come our way.

The sun came out and so did many fabulous costumes for the return of the spring Whiby Goth Weekend 🦇. There are many websites for you to view, with loads of terrific photographs of the incredible people who attended the event.
