It’s been a long time since we posted anything about who we are at the Inn on the Moor Hotel, and as so many of you have started following us very recently, we thought it would be a really good time for a bit of a refresher about us.
So, hello! 👋
Here (from left to right) is Jack, Nicola, Emily, Granny, Tracey and Ian and we’re part of the family behind ‘The Inn'. Hiding behind the camera, there is also Mark, Jamie and Sam.
Cutting a long story, very short, our family came to Goathland from Masham many moons ago and over the generations, has established a family farm here in Goathland, in the heart of the North York Moors. A few years ago now, back in 2016, we seized the opportunity to ‘branch out’ and we moved into The Inn on the Moor Hotel. The family continues to run the farm, whilst also working hard to bring a new lease of life to ‘The Inn'. Ideally placed, we long to be able to establish a business that supports and values the local community, as well as helping visitors to Goathland and the North York Moors have enjoyable and valuable experiences time and time again.
We’re located in the very heart of Goathland, only a 15 minute drive from Whitby and you can find us next door to the Goathland Garage and opposite, the Goathland Hotel. You might recognise these as Scripp’s Garage and the Aidensfield Arms from the 1960s family drama, Heartbeat, which was filmed in Goathland for many years.
The Inn on the Moor Hotel has been in operation since the very early 1900s and has undergone many changes over the years. Boasting more than 20 guest rooms, an impressive open bar, a cosy lounge, many dining spaces and a modest sized garden, there are many things keeping us busy.
Follow us if you would like to join us on our journey to make The Inn the very best place to stay, and find out more about what makes Goathland so very special.
