We know making memories often involves muddy toes (and paws! 🐾) so this morning we’ve given the carpets and the dining area sofas a little clean. The van has been fully booked without a single day free so a full deep clean is really hard to fit in but this just helps us keep on top of it - looking and smelling fresh for the next guests checking in at 4pm.

Won’t be long before you’ll be able to see the beautiful pristine white St Mary’s from our windows !
Don’t forget you can visit the causeway for the best rockpooling 🦀🐚

A visit to the lighthouse and the top is breathtaking , both literally and visually

When the island is reopen you can find a few hundred seals casually hanging about the rock’s 🦭

The volunteers on the island are on hand to ensure their safety and answer any questions, there is also a viewing hut with binoculars to help you spot the well camouflaged seals

St Mary's Lighthouse will now re-open in mid-October, instead of mid-September.

This is because several panes of glass on the lantern need replacing, and as the glass is curved it takes longer to make.

The team saw the condition of the glass when working at the top, and have decided to replace it now while the scaffolding is still up for the restoration work.

This means St.Mary's Lighthouse and Visitor Centre will stay closed until mid-October.

The causeway will now stay open in September, but will close again in early October to allow the scaffolding to be removed.

We're sorry it's taking a bit longer, but it will be worth it!

We are coming to the end of the summer holidays and I just want to say a big thank you to everyone who has stayed with us this year. We have been solidly booked from 3 May until 16 September - it’s been busy but hopefully so many beautiful memories have been made 🥰. We have made amazing ones too, including this pool party for my son. Bookings are coming in for next year so please don’t leave it too late if you want a break in school holidays for 2025. I will do a separate post on availability from 16 September for the rest of this year and keep it updated.

Helpful to those who have any bookings !

St Mary's Lighthouse is getting a facelift! It'll be painted and restored, with some repairs done to the island buildings.

The work needs to be done quickly and safely to not harm the seals and birds, so there'll be some closures from Monday 24 June until mid September.

The lighthouse and island will be closed the whole time, but the causeway will re-open on Monday 22 July.

It means you can still take the kids rockpooling in the school holidays - it's a lush, free couple of hours if you haven't been!

The causeway then closes again in the first week of September until mid September, when the work will finish.

There will be signs in the car park telling you what's open and when.
