Just been finishing a number of jobs around the station including the new sign - to replace an old and rather weathered one at the end of the driveway - as well as finishing-off lots of other jobs such as replacing the platform lights, replacement of the picket fencing - and its painting! (weather permitting!)
Hopefully we're all ready for the new season....

All of the engines that ran on the island were given names of local towns and villages. I thought it would be nice touch to recreate some of the engine name plates of some of those that used to pass through Whitwell - and display them in the cottages

With all new windows and doors just fitted, the cottages are now looking terrific .....and feeling so much less draughty...

Well it's been a very busy start to the summer - with some pretty changeable weather at times! But today is glorious - the station looking much fresher with the newly refurbished canopy, telephone box and fencing.
Even the vineyard is looking a lot healthier after a very frosty April!

More importantly, Lola the labrador is constantly honing her meet and greet skills for welcoming guests!
