It's been a lovely seventeen years living here, but sadly the time has come for us to think about our next steps.

Closure due again on our lane… sure we’ll have to play spot the difference again like we have to every other time potholes get filled. A plain off and new surface would be greatly received rather than this patchwork minefield of bodged repairs. Reckon we’re wishful thinking though.

The Isle of Wight Council (Ford Farm Lane, Whitwell, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Road Closure) Order No 3 2024
Island Roads on behalf of the Isle of Wight Council give notice that for two shifts between Tuesday 23 July 2024, and Thursday 25 July 2024, or when the works have been completed, no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed along Ford Farm Lane, from its junction with Niton Road, for its entire length. There is no alternative route. The closure is required for safety during carriageway repair works.

An email just came through from Island Roads regarding the closure of Niton/Newport Road on Monday 20th May for surface dressing for 2 days.

Note: There is NO vehicle access. Going to be a long walk for us lot!

Just a shame they won't come and resurface Ford Farm Lane!!!

Our B&B is open to all walks of life…

It's not going to win any awards for quality of the year, but our webcam captured an electricity pole catching fire seconds before 1,200 customers were left without power this morning.
