After what seems like an eternity of gloomy greyness, it was so nice to see a brief glimpse of colour this morning. It was also especially lovely to almost have Durdle Door to myself (apart from some passing joggers and a couple of wild campers!) The sun is just about still rising over the sea here so I’m really hoping for some more good sunrises over the next few weeks as I feel I’ve hardly done any coastal shots this winter. Go away relentless grey!

It’s not long to go until Laura Rich’s solo show, ‘In Between Horizons’, at Gallery by the Lakes!

The upcoming exhibition features a series of abstract landscapes that delve into the dynamic themes of change and flux. Through bold, expressive brushwork and layered textures, these paintings capture the ever-evolving relationship between nature and transformation.

Each piece invites viewers to reflect on the impermanence of the natural world, offering a powerful visual exploration of time, movement, and the constant state of becoming.

Currently navigating a profound period of personal transformation, Laura channels her own experience of change and renewal into these evocative works, further deepening the emotional resonance of the landscapes she creates.

Running from 14th February to 15th March, this exhibition is not to be missed! Laura will be visiting Gallery by the Lakes to celebrate the opening of her show on Saturday 15th February from 10am to 2pm.
