🎉 Happy 3rd Birthday to Flow Macrame! 🎉
What an incredible few years! Lots of skills learnt and met so many beautiful people through this online community!
Now, you all know I’m obsessed with brightly coloured coasters 😍 and what better way to celebrate than with some fantastic content created by my good friend @bradbree of my largest project to date! Please take a look at his photography and videography, he’s insanely talented and it was incredible working with him on this!
A while back I spoke about a project I was doing for my beautiful Auntie who suffered with breast cancer over 5 years ago. (Thank god, she’s all in the clear now!)
As a thank you for all of their hard work and support, she wanted to donate a boat load of coasters to @macmillancancer
She came to me with an idea and we made it happen!
These coasters are for sale on a stall at the MacMillan Centre at @royalsurreycountyhospital and every penny made, raises money towards Macmillan and the incredible service and treatments they provide.
So far, they’ve gone down a storm and I’m currently in the process of doing the same again for them but this time everything sparkly and festive! ✨
It’s been an incredible opportunity, to share my work with the world, spread some happiness and more importantly raise money for a fantastic charity who saved my aunties life and many more lives.
I will be forever grateful 🙏🏼Thank you MacMillan 🩷

March meet the maker - TRIAL & ERROR
Featuring just ‘SOME’ of the attempts that I could find in my spare room! By far, this coaster is the hardest thing I’ve made so far. So much so, I actually reached out to @greysmade for some help on her tutorial! Every time I did it, I either didn’t have enough cord because of the diameter I was using (I solved this quickly) or it kept bending as the two edges wouldn’t sit flat and neatly touching each other, so they kept overhanging!! The frustration on this was real… Matt even told me to move on which I damn right refused to do!
The difficult thing I found with this project was that I didn’t know if it was going to be correct until the very last section. Would it over hang or would it be perfect and I somehow managed to avoid having another melt down!
This project is what got me into my beloved braided cord.
I can’t tell you why, but it works with braided cord and I dare not go back to single twist for this project. The mystery remains unsolved!
Curious to know, what do you all think of the yellow and white striped design? 🟨⬜️
MARCH MEET THE MAKER - PLANNING
My first wall hanging all planned out ready for the making! I’m not usually a planner, I like to wing it and see where it goes, but on this occasion I actually felt a little overwhelmed with that much freedom to do what ever I’d like! Colour is one thing, but choosing the style, type of knot, length and accents was a little too much to wing!!!
