Perfect for a romantic break, The Stables is a countryside oasis, but still close to the hustle and bustle of Winchester, the ancient capital of England. With all of the accommodation on the ground floor and underfloor heating throughout, the cottage offers a well appointed, light and airy open-plan living and dining space. It has a modern, fully equipped kitchen including an induction hob, oven, microwave, dishwasher and Nespresso machine. Relax in front of the cosy woodburner (all wood included), whilst streaming your favourite films & series via the Smart TV. A large bedroom with a very comfy king-size bed, luxurious Egyptian cotton bedding and a fabulous walk-in shower with fluffy towels all contribute to you feeling re-energised during your stay. Enjoy al fresco meals in the beautifully designed, Mediterranean style garden, for the sole use of The Stables' guests. Maps are provided for you to enjoy endless walks from our doorstep, with the nearest pub a 20 minute stroll away. Medieval market town Bishop's Waltham is nearby offering a fabulous range of amenities including a traditional butcher, greengrocer & bakery, the best coffee in Hampshire, 3 delis, a sweet shop selling handmade fudge & chocolates, supermarkets as well as countless independent shops, pubs and restaurants. Tawny, Barn and Little Owls are all resident around The Stables. Most afternoons you can watch the Barn Owl hunt around the fields and hedge rows and there is a regular standoff over hunting territory with its neighbour, the Tawny Owl. Magnificent to watch!

In 2025, the literary world will celebrate the 250th anniversary of Jane Austen's birth, with events and exhibitions planned across Hampshire, including Wi******er (where she died and is buried in Wi******er Cathedral).
The Stables bookshelves hold many of her works and you can find leaflets on her house in Chawton and various walks in the cottage too 📚 📖✍️
