I don’t post often but just had to share our latest review-we always refer to the cottage as an old lady 👵🏻 (well she is 170 years old!) to be respected and looked after, and we’ve tried to keep her traditional, and our last guests were completely in tune with her 🥰This makes it all so worthwhile 🏡 ☺️

A little later than usual due to a fair bit of ❄️⛄️last weekend but finally decorated the cottage for Christmas - picked a real Christmas tree from Booths and it smells lovely 🎄Had to rearrange the furniture a little to fit it in but really pleased with it. 🌲😊😘

What a lovely day to clean the cottage, makes such a difference to come when the sun is shining after all this horrible rain we’ve had! Yes that is the sun you can see shining from the bedroom window just in case you’d forgotten what it looked like 🌞Been able to do outside jobs so pots are planted with winter pansies, windows cleaned, outdoor furniture covered, leaves swept up and the outside tidied up a bit. Lovely walking in Windermere this afternoon it was so sunny and great to see people sat outside the pubs and cafes. Lunch at Home Ground was delicious too and nice to just stop and watch the world go by for an hour. 🏡🍁🥗☕️🌞😊

Lucky to grab a walk in before trimming the cottage up for our Christmas and New Year guests and what a day to pick! Took the foot ferry over to the other side of Lake Windermere and wandered up to Claife viewing station and meandered back down to the lake shore. Absolutely beautiful winter’s day ☀️🎄😘

What a day! Sneaky day off between cottage jobs. Sunshine and rain - it isn’t called the Lake District for nothing. Stunning scenery today walking a circular route from Skelwith Bridge via Colwith Falls, Slater Bridge, Little Langdale Tarn and Elterwater. On a bus route so no car required 😁🚶🏻‍♀️🚌🌦️🌈

We have such lovely guests - having arrived to clean after our guests have stayed for 27 nights we walked in to find such a lovely comment left in our guest book and a thank you box of chocolates. It makes all the effort we put in so worthwhile that our guests have had such a great time and I feel very proud of our little Lake District cottage ❤️🏡

What a beautiful day it’s been today and so nice to see the bulbs starting to flower in our pots at the cottage, getting it ready for our incoming guests followed by lunch at The Copper Pot in Ambleside 😋🌞🌼🏡

Beautiful Arnside and Silverdale - only a short drive away from the cottage. A lovely wander in the break between the storms (taken 19.02.22 - we set off in wind, rain and snow!).

Well I’m absolutely speechless, what a wonderful review in our guest book from our lovely guests who left today!

And it’s also a big thank you to a lovely lady who is helping us clean now as we’ve had lots of week day changes so a big shout out to Jan for all her help and putting up with me as it’s hard letting go 😉

And it just shows whatever the weather there’s plenty of fun to be had!

Feeling very thankful, even more so this year than ever before 🏡😘

Well - we should have been cleaning (but luckily for us our next guests aren't due in 'til Monday) so we took advantage of the lovely weather and had lunch outside at Charlie's Cafe (opposite the Coop in Windermere) and then had a wander up School Knott - not going to have too many nice days left so just got to take it when you can 🙂 x
