Feeling Festive?

As of today Sizergh Castle have launched their Winter Experience.
Follow the immersive light and sound installations, discover a story of Christmas past in the House, and get creative with festive crafts in the Great Barn.

Running from 22nd November- 24th December
12-8pm

The Bank Holiday Weekend is upon us, we have a few ideas for you if you're out and about in the Lake District this weekend.

1. Grasmere
Pop to Dove Cottage the home of William Wordsworth. There are plent of coffee shops and places to eat in the village, plus you'll have to stop at .

2. 525 Cross Lakes
Leave the car behind, get on shuttle to Ash Landing, then hop on the shuttle bus which stops at Far Sawrey, Near Sawrey and Hawkshead.

3. Coniston
So much to do in this little village, for those who fancy it try Old Man Coniston, or for those who wish to stay by the lake, there are boats to hire or why not visit the famous Blue Bird, recently returned to the .

4. Orrest Head
This walk suits everyone, plus has glorious views of Windermere and the surrounding fells.

The beautiful village of Hawkshead is well worth a visit if you're visiting the Lake District. It's filled with history and character, we guarantee you'll love it.

🍺🍰The mediaeval village is filled with little shops, cafes & pubs.

🚐You can leave the car behind and get the 525, it will take you between Hawkshead-Near Sawrey-Far Sawrey & Ash Landing.

👉 Pop into the Grasmere Gingerbread shop and try the famous Gingerbread.

Mountain Goat has operated in the Lake District sine 1972 and is very well established sight seeing tour company.

Back in 2014 Mountain Goat secured the building as it was set to close for good.

After few more years and few changes we have a very busy tourist information centre still thriving today, with our friendly staff ready to greet you when you arrive. With tours departing from Mountain Goat daily.
