💡THE BIG SWITCH OFF! 💡

Come and join in at this years annual Dark Skies Cumbria event, where street lights, residents and businesses switch off their lights to reveal thousands of stars that are usually hidden by light pollution.

The big switch off locations:
AMBLESIDE & GRASMERE - 28th March from 7pm. After refreshments and a talk, bring your binoculars to observe the night sky.

KESWICK - 28th April from 8pm. Head to Crow Park opposite The Theatre by the Lake, where anyone can stargazing through telescopes.

💚 Family Favourites for Feb Half Term 💚
Need some ideas? There's so much to do here in the Lakes over February Half Term we can't list them all! Here's a few from the lodges team of things to do.. 💗

Head to the city of Carlisle, visit Walby Farm Park 🐐 a great place for the kids. Just outside Penrith, the unique Rheged with its own cinema, shops, cafe's, art gallery, play area and more..

Cruise down to the southern tip of Windermere on Windermere Lake Cruises ⛴ to visit the Lakes Aquarium or ride the steam train on Lakeside & Haverthwaite Railway. Over on the western side of the national park, the famous Ravenglass & Eskdale Railway Co.Ltd 🚂running through the stunning Eskdale valley, nearby is the amazing Muncaster Castle and the Hawk & Owl Centre

Also, on the west pay a visit to the Dock Museum at Barrow, underwater world at Lake District Coast Aquarium, Maryport and the Beacon Museum at Whitehaven is a great day out! 🐟

Visit one of the many amazing castles, from the impressive Lowther Castle and Gardens and Gardens, Sizergh Castle NT and Brougham are well worth a visit too, There are so many to choose from. 🏰

Depending on the weather grab your waterproofs or sun cream and get outdoors and take in the fantastic walks, lakes, forests, beaches and awe inspiring scenery of the National Park.
