It's been a good week for Stubborn Mule families in Tanzania, with two separate families summiting Kilimanjaro. At 5,895 this is no insignificant feat, particularly for our youngest climber yet, who is just 11. The porters and staff have made a suitable fuss, with a post-climb celebration to present the summit certificates. A real achievement - congratulations!!!
It's the Oscars this weekend, and to celebrate all things film we thought that we would share some of our top family travel destinations that feature in blockbuster movies! 🎬
First up, it's Ait-Ben-Haddou, Morocco. Nestled delicately in the Atlas Mountains, this ancient earthen town is an amazing example of historic Moroccan architecture. Classics such as The Mummy, The Prince of Persia and Gladiator have been shot here, and it's easy to see why! Game of Thrones fans may also notice some familiar sights... ⛰

Take a look at Claire's account of when she was guided by a bedouin boy around the desert in Jordan. He couldn't speak English, so he sang!
"He took us deep in to the Wadi where we didn’t see another soul. Omar built a fire and brewed us incredibly sweet Arabian tea and shared our very British short bread fingers which he really loved. The day for him was a vocabulary lesson as he was so keen to learn English words. My husband and I who are both teachers, felt that we were back in the classroom, but we didn’t mind at all as he was such a willing student. We learnt so much about Bedouin life from Oman that day. It was a real highlight of our two week trip in stunning Jordan."
Twice as deep as the Grand Canyon, Colca Canyon is an amazing land feature. What’s even more amazing is the condors that effortlessly circle the canyons depths, being lifted by warm air currents. It’s a calm and therapeutic watch! Who would love to go here?
