National Trust North Devon was excited to be part of the dedication ceremony for the first ever World Surfing Reserve in the United Kingdom this weekend. North Devon is now one of twelve World Surfing Reserves across the globe. This reserve covers over 18 miles of coastline which encompasses outstanding UK surfing destinations, including iconic breaks such as Croyde, Saunton, Woolacombe and Lynmouth among others.

North Devon World Surfing Reserve joins other well known protected surf areas such as Malibu, California; Ericeira, Portugal; Manly Beach, Australia; Santa Cruz, California; Baja California, Mexico; Gold Coast, Australia; Guarda do Embaú, Brazil; Noosa Heads, Australia; and Playa Hermosa, Costa Rica.
