Barricane beach cafe is open every day from about 10 am unless it is raining.

They serve drinks, cakes, snacks, ice creams along side our lunch menu of ciabattas, baguettes, wraps, baps and soups.

Our curry nights are on every evening from 4.45 until 7pm ish unless we run out before and we are closed if it is raining.
We have a meat option or a veggie option ( vegan friendly) these are both served with 2 veg curries, basmati rice, poppadoms and sambol and are £13 or £7 for a child size.
We only take cash at the cafe due to limited signal.

We don’t use dairy or gluten in our curries but these allergens are used in the cafe.

Beach notes
- Dogs are allowed on a lead on the beach and a dog bin is located above the beach at the road

- Rubbish- we are happy to take cafe rubbish but due to limited space we ask you to take rubbish/recycling home or use the bins on the main road

- Toilets - nearest are opposite the watersmeet hotel or in the main car park above woolacombe beach.

The ocean covers over 70% of the planet. It is our life source, supporting humanity’s sustenance and that of every other organism on earth.

The ocean produces at least 50% of the planet’s oxygen, it is home to most of earth’s biodiversity, and is the main source of protein for more than a billion people around the world. Not to mention, the ocean is key to our economy with an estimated 40 million people being employed by ocean-based industries by 2030.

Even though all its benefits, the ocean is now in need of support.

With 90% of big fish populations depleted, and 50% of coral reefs destroyed, we are taking more from the ocean than can be replenished. We need to work together to create a new balance with the ocean that no longer depletes its bounty but instead restores its vibrancy and brings it new life.

"Revitalization: collective action for the ocean" is the theme for World Oceans Day 2022, a year framed by the UN Decade of Ocean Science and the celebration of the United Nations Ocean Conference, two years after being cancelled because of the pandemic.

Woolacombe Beach: Dog Friendly all year round! Some restrictions apply during the main season - Dogs are not allowed between the rocks at the north end of the beach and the stream from Good Friday or 1st April (whichever is earliest) until 30th September. This is a very small area in comparison to the size of the beach. Dogs must be on leads from the stream to Mill Rock from the same dates, but may be exercised without restriction from Mill Rock onwards. . .

Whilst staying in Woolacombe why not take a day trip out to Lundy Island, and island of outstanding natural beauty.

Lundy is an unspoilt island, home to a fascinating array of wildlife amidst dramatic scenery

Undisturbed by cars, the island encompasses a small village with an inn, Victorian church and the 13th-century Marisco Castle.

There's also a disused lighthouse to discover. Called the Old Light, it offers superb views over the northern part of the island.

For nature-lovers there are the variety of seabirds, wildlife, flora and fauna. Designated the first Marine Conservation Area, Lundy offers opportunities for diving and seal watching.
