Just a bit of updating the for this weekend’s guests - new artwork, courtesy of Darren's photos over the king sized bed. This is a sunset at Spittal beach, near Berwick upon Tweed.

We’ve also added some new curtains in the bathroom, for greater privacy of guests (although there’s really no one out there to look in, but it may feel more comfortable 🫣, and that’s what we’re about!).

Just a glimpse of what to expect, as you arrive at Doddington West Wing. Although part of the larger farmhouse, our West Wing has it’s own independent entrance and separate private (but also a sun trap ☀️) yard. Guests can let themselves in via a key safe, so if you want to maintain your seclusion that’s fine with us! However we’re also not far away & happy to help, if you need anything!

🚙 Holy Island is only crossable twice a day, and you can find yourself in serious bother if you find yourself crossing at the wrong time, meaning people like Martin from HM Coastguard might have to come and rescue you, and your car could even be written off!

If you're planning a trip to Holy Island, you can save yourself a load of bother by looking at the tide times online before you set off. We want you to enjoy the beauty of , but we want you to do it safely.

Don't leave it to chance, check in advance!

A scenic and rural cycling sportive through rural Northumberland, starting and ending in the town of Wooler. The 100km will stretch the accomplished and the 60km will provide a beautiful challenge to those keen to give it a go.

We hope everyone has had a great Easter weekend! We had a lovely trip to Ross sands, a fabulous beach, about half an hours drive away from Doddington.

This superb beach is pretty much always peaceful, even on Bank holiday weekends, as there is a short walk of about a mile to get there, but we hope you’ll agree it’s worth it!

Look north and you can see Holy Island and Lindisfarne castle, face south and there’s Bamburgh castle, beyond the mud flats of Budle bay.

At certain times of the year, there can be access restrictions (which will be signposted) because of nesting birds, but all was clear this weekend!!

OPEN now for the 2024 season, we’re just down the road from Chillingham, approx 5miles!

We’re only 14 miles from Seahouses, and would thoroughly recommend a trip to the Farne Islands!

This tour includes a cruise around all the Farne Islands, viewing the sea birds on the cliff faces, visiting the Grey Seal colonies and also follows the route Grace Darling and her father took during their heroic rescue in 1838.

We’re working on the outside space for the West Wing. We want our guests to have their own private area, where dogs can be walked, accessed by its own private driveway. Cars can be parked off the road, safely within the walled garden.

The bedroom in the DoddingtonWestWing is great size with an extra long super king size bed. If you require twin beds the zip and link feature allows us to make them up as extra long twin beds!
