ETIAS, a project in progress for several years, is slated to become a crucial requirement for travelers to Schengen countries, encompassing most of the EU, along with Switzerland, Norway, Iceland, and Liechtenstein.

This delay in the implementation of ETIAS is attributed to a setback in the Entry/Exit System, the central database upon which ETIAS depends.
