Six o'clock on a Saturday evening. I'm often in the bakery at this time. Normally, I'll have arrived back from Keswick Market, tired but content from a busy day's selling. This week, for a change, I was baking. I'm not in the bakery that much on a Saturday. It's quite humbling to be there at the busy times, with customers queuing out the door. I can 100% say we don't take this for granted. We are really grateful for everybody's support at a time when it's not easy being in the food industry.

At six o'clock, the bakery has been cleaned down, extra jobs have been done and all is quiet. It always gives me a chance to reflect on the week that's been and think about the week ahead. We have a new till system coming in this week. We have tough decisions to make on ingredient purchases. We are planning for Christmas.

Yet six o'clock on a Saturday is the quiet time. For a few hours once I leave the bakery, my mind can switch off and I can enjoy Strictly with the rest of you. Precious moments of calm in an otherwise busy schedule.

We are saddened to read the news that Sir Chris Hoy, one of Britain’s most decorated Olympians, is facing a terminal cancer diagnosis.

Men simply should not be diagnosed with prostate cancer at Stage 4.

But sadly, Sir Chris is one of thousands of men in the UK who have received their diagnosis too late.

1 in 8 men will be affected by the disease in their lifetime, but men like Sir Chris, who are 45 and over and with a family history of the disease, as well as black men, are at significantly higher risk.

We currently have the PSA blood test, which is an important tool to help spot the disease earlier, yet GPs are prevented from offering this test and discussing prostate cancer risk with men like Sir Chris because of current NHS guidelines.

We believe no man should die of prostate cancer.

That's why we're calling on the Government to take urgent action, change these outdated rules and begin saving thousands of lives today.
