Lovejoy Centre Providing activities for older people. Day centre service, community trips, working with people with dementia. And support to AC's in their job role. This is me!

Ann Marie Lovejoy Bruce- Kerr, founder and creator of the Lovejoy Centre, our sessions and our products. I love what I do and have a true passion for it. I want to help make the jobs of Activity Coordinators that bit more easier by delivering sessions and creating products that bring variety, fun and stimulate memory and social interaction in a joyful way. My philosophy is to provide a service of

the highest standard which meets the individual needs of each client we engage with. Their wishes and individuality are respected and given the utmost consideration when our activity sessions are designed. This helps me to work alongside care home management to promote individuality with dignity. Also, the role of the activity coordinator is often overlooked and is a very lonely place, so I champion the work AC's do and offer support, training and have created an online tribe of AC's providing advice, support and encouragement. and an online academy. I know first hand how powerful engaging activities are for older people who have dementia or live in a care home setting. Lovejoy Centre was started in 2011 and my passion has grown and has created dementia-friendly products for activities as well. I also do an annual care show and activity coordinator awards each year.

The day centre will be closed next week Wednesday out of respect for my dear husband who has sadly passed away. We will...

The day centre will be closed next week Wednesday out of respect for my dear husband who has sadly passed away. We will be holding his funeral and wake that day. The day centre reopens on the Thursday of that week and back to normal as from the following week.
Andrew my amazing husband was always by my side supporting me with the centre and contributing his time, energy and money into it.

Well that’s a wrap! We had a wonderful Christmas lunch with party games and crafting making Christmas sweet wreaths . Lots of laughter and fun. Thank you to everyone who has volunteered for us and used our services over the last year. We have provided 760 hours of respite care this year, 20 outings for service users and 5 main social events and endless hours of fundraising to ensure we are here for you. Out of hours support to family and our service users . We wish you all a very blessed Christmas and healthy New Year. We close tomorrow and will reopen on the 8/01/25 in the New Year.

Wonderful time at Christmas crafty creations event at River of life church today . Thank you to my amazing kind sister in law Bruce Kerr for donating all the stock for us to sell that she creates. and we use to fund raise. We raised £184 today which is so awesome and will cover our Christmas activity events for the service users Thank you to everyone who bought things and attended. 💜💜💜💜🌲🌲🌲🌲
