Ok so firstly the excuses for a 4 month lack of posts,,my lad was in hospital for 8 weeks, so no fishing for me...I then broke my Sternum (obviously bare knuckle cage fighting..) So no fishing for me..then Christmas happened and I was away. then I had to go away again, so no fishing... Then I had to do some actual work, to pay for skiing and other such luxuries ;) so finally I am here posting...So the Winter was pretty epic aboard Adelaide, From September Cod were being caught, pretty much always on Bream gear, and through the winter months there were a nice amount of Codling and Whiting,Cod again nearly always on small hooks/baits meant for whiting. Since Christmas pretty much every trip has seen at least 1 cod. Around a week or so ago Adelaide was the first boat of the year to bag a bream, a male to just under 2lb :)
I finally got out today and despite a Easterly wind (this is the kiss of death for fishing) it was not too bad, a cod to 5lb on a lure, drifting Kingmere Reef, and quite a few whiting, though a little small, plus 2 plaice up to 2lb, pretty much the other guys had similar fish, apart from the cod...Considering this can be a "tricky" month it seems really good generally at the moment. Cod catches are the best for like years, The plaice are starting to show, and bream cant be that far away...I think this year will be a good year all round...
