This cosy Cottage with log burner and central heating is available for holidays and short breaks. Built around 1866 the Bell Ringers cottage sits yards away form the Offa's Dyke path and a host of scenic walks. It is 5mins a way from Coed Llandegla Forrest where there are walking routes and bird hides to watch the Black Grouse. Coed Llandegla is also a popular destination for mountain bike enthusiasts with blue, red and black trials, Oneplanet adventure Mtb centre with cafe and bike shop.

Berwyn Shuttle running today!

Take a short but delightful trip to the heart of the Dee Valley. Travel in our charming 4 wheel LNER carriage or converted semi-open wagon, both of which afford superb views of river and valley on your trip to Berwyn and back. Our diesel-hauled shuttle service is ideal for young families or those wanting to combine a short train trip with a walk around the beautiful Dee Gorge at Berwyn.

Make sure you bring a camera to capture the spectacular views from the picturesque Berwyn Station. You can also take a walk across the Dee via the famous Chain Bridge to the Hotel and enjoy a drink or meal. A short stroll along the Llangollen Canal takes you straight to Telford's masterful water take-off weir "Horseshoe Falls", a much-loved picnic and paddling spot. For those wanting a longer walk, you can visit the peaceful Llantysilio Church, walk along the 2 miles or so along the canal back to Llangollen. The more adventurous can even find their way to the Dee Valley Way, which runs between Llangollen and Corwen and takes you right into the Llantysilio Mountains.

It’s time to locate those hats and scarves again with more snow on the way🧣⛄

This hill in Bala, Gwynedd, is still white from the last snow shower.

The Met Office issued a yellow warning for snow and ice for parts of north, west and mid Wales from 00:15 GMT on Thursday until 11:00.

A second yellow weather warning for ice, is in place from 00:15 until 10:30 covering parts of south Wales.
